The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

The religions in our lives

No 19 of Living Life Series 1

Brethren, adherents of religious institutions must ensure their institutions must be sustained not just by conventional ways of sectional society but more importantly, by the spirit of the inner truth.

The inner truth is that God and Heaven reach out to us via more than one religion or sect. This is to allow more to experience the inner peace amidst the yin yang -- the ups and downs in life.

This inner peace is achieved by recognising, by balancing -- by non-denial of yin and yang and by not being swept around by the yin and yang. We will then be on top of and in harmony with life.

Yin and yang refer to the worldly contingencies or axes in life like gain loss, health sickness, praise blame, honour dishonour, elation and dejection, mania and depression etc which create restlessness and dis-ease.

We do not need to wait till kingdom come in after-life to have heavenly peace. We can do so here and now.

Only by inner peace can we be one with the peace and purity of the holy spirit of God and heavenly saints ('leng' in Chinese Hokkien).

We will have heavenly inner peace of our spirit or inner being here and now.

We develop the God or Divinity within us.

The image of Lord Bo Tien embodies the Inner Truth. The sceptre in His right hand represents the Inner Truth behind all religions. There is need to reconcile all to the commonality of truth. The left hand in salutation bids all to go forward with life and truth in whatever religion or sect they be in, or even if none. The elements at his feet represent the yin and yang. There is need for dynamic balance and the various religions will see that the diverse needs of every one and kind will be met.

We must live life through the religions in our lives. God is a good provider and provides a buffet of choice. He has sent out his army of prophets and saints to all corners always to give us not one chance by many. Even if we are in hell, we will have myriad chances to be enlightened and have eternal divine peace. Then we will be with Divinity of God and the pure ones.

This is ever so true and simple but many fail to see the simplicity of truth, let alone realise. Divinity will ever try again and again to reach out. Thus religions must have the evangelistic spirit not to rival and negate one another's good works but to augment, synergise and complement.
