No 76 of Living Life Series 1
The battle field of life is always there. If we do battle over every issue it would be wearisome and exhausting. Then we will be in hell of life even if victorious. But victory is not always the case. There will be pain of defeat every now and then.
Over the last year from 2009 to 2010, men the world over are bugged by the banking saga. Banks up till 2009 crisis tended to issue too liberally bank loans to extent of encouraging living beyond means and on potential of future income yet to be realised. When income did not rise or job loss occured, default in payments to service loans led to liquidity problems, foreclosures, repossessions and bankruptcies.
All these are due to human indiscretion and over commission by both parties, more so when they over commit to try to have more victory in battle field of life.
The lesson in life is this. It is true that life is a battle field of sorts between the opposites what may be referred as yin and yang. We should be strategic and balance the opposites in battle field of life.
We do more manoeuvring and go for peace by balancing extremes of living beyond means and denial of comfortable needs. An exmample of comfrtble needs would be a modest home with adequate cash flow for life necessities and savings for rainy days.
This balance is portrayed in image of Lord Bo Tien with feet astride the opposite elements of life. This is the way to peace amidst the battle field of life, be it financial or otherwise. This is the inner truth way to peace amidst global financial crisis. We will be well poised to handle and emerge unscathed and in peace and comfort from any financial crisis of such nature.
