The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Managing fate the merit way

No 53 of Living Life Series 1

We need luck or providence to be on our side.

We must have merit store to tap on.

Normally this refers to the accumulated merits that we have from the good or positive actions we have in this life and in past lives. We sort of provide for ourselves. Hence, our cumulative merit store in a way is the providence or some may think of this as luck store to tap on.

We can also enhance the store by seeking the benevolence from the divine. They can bless us via tranfer of merits. This is divine providence.

But we must be mindful not to be harnessing demerits by living in frustrations for frustrations only forment more frustrations. We dig into our misery and create more hell for our own life.

We must create heaven on earth and not hell on earth.

We must fill the cup of our life with water of good merits and not pollute the water of the cup with sediments or mud of woes.

We must also mindfully and conscientiously cultivate pure thoughts and actions to produce more good merits and let the cup of our life overflow with water to push out and dilute the mud and sand of past demerits. Demerits are due to past and present bad or defiled actions and thoughts.

This way, the cup of our life will have clearer and clearer water due to more wholesome merits. We do not allow the past demerits to be present in the cup of our life. This way we have good fate and make sure our bad fate has less potential to make its presence in (the cup of) our life.

We dilute the bad with the good. We dilute the muddy water with more clear water till the water in cup of our life will be clear.

Fate can be managed by cultivating good merits and by tapping on the merit providence of divinity.

We must be clear in mind to stay cool and calm when beset with woes. We must not dig into our woes to create more woes and hell in life but move on to cultivate the blessings of good merits and tap into the holy spirit store of merits of divinity constituted by the divine love of God and saints for all beings.

The problem is that when we are muddle-headed and frustrated in life, we harness more frustrations instead of merits. We are less able to cultivate merits, let alone to tap into the divine providence of love and merits of God and saints. Even when divinity extends a helping hand, we end up too distracted by frustrations and not collected enough to reach out to the divine hand and providence.
