No 35 of Living Life Series 1
The flower is beautiful and is attractive both by looks and by scent.
But the flower if taken apart is not attractive and the parts of odd shape and sizes are not beauties on their own.
Even as a whole, the flower appears wholesome but it has a life span and a purpose. While it is still wholesome, make full use of its wholesomeness. Once time takes its toll, it is past and gone.
Such is the nature of all things in life in the world we know and in the world of come-and-go, in the world of quest for ultimate peace and ease which is to be with God.
We are born again and again, what some refers to as the cycle of rebirth. Rebirth is good but yet not so. We have the opportunities to make good to be with God not just once but many times over. The learning experiences in rebirths may often be far from pleasant and are usually painful or far from satisfactory.
The life of a being like the human as a whole is beautiful and is attractive in more than one way.
But life if taken apart is not attractive and the odd parts and events of life are not beauties on their own. There are both direct pain (from illness, disease, age and physical pain) and indirect pain from loss of gain, fame and ends, which are transient and do not last, but are as good as they last.
Even as a whole entirety, life appears wholesome but it has a finite span and a finite purpose. We are reborn with a purpose. While there is life, make full use of it to fulfilment of the purpose, which has to do with making oneself good to be with God, and his saints like Lord Bo Tien. Once time takes its toll, it is past and gone, and for many who whiles away their time, they may have to start from ground zero.
