The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Learn from all religions and not just from one

No 961 of Living Life Series 1

We can never be exactly right in spiritual matters and we may be a long long way to be more right. Knowing this, we must not look down at others' beliefs and want them to give up on their beliefs.

For all we know, the beliefs of others may add more depth and scope to our beliefs. We can always learn more and not just a thing or two from others beliefs and that is what we must do.

The good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 says we need to know from life our own as well as the lives of others. This of course must extend to religions.
We can learn more from the religions of others and not just from our own religion. We learn from life and life is the living gospel and within life, there are the religions of the world.

In fact, the good lord wants us to adore all heavenly saints and believe in their teachings. The universal prayer at his temple attest to this. "To all heavenly saints, we greatly adore. We believe in your existence and thy glory is in the thought of men. We seek for thy protection and guidance so as to live better for the time to come."

Thus it is pertinent that members of any temple of Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 must rise to show the example by learning from the teachings of all religions. If people of all religions do this, that would be marvelous and awesome. That would be great.
That would lend credence to the the good lord's teaching that the true temple is the world with heaven as the roof and religions as the pillars. All under heaven are in the same universal temple and the religions are the pillars to enrich men spiritually. Why go for one pillar when there are many in the four cardinal directions?

All temples and all houses of God and saints are but gateways to the universal temple we are in. We are in this world, in this universal temple to learn from all religions and not just from one. Let this be known so that men will be one whole.,.
The more we learn from all religions, the more we will fathom the oneness of the basic and simple inner truth behind all religions. Religions teach us more on this basic inner truth based on which the rest are but to flesh out this basic truth.

Religions flesh out in their own ways the inner truth of goodness and how to be pure. The more we are exposed to all religions, the better we will be at grasping what is good and how to be pure.

We will not be one sided but multi-sided and whole. Be good and be pure and that seems so simple but men woolly in the head simple cannot get this right.

We need to go to all religions so as to get this right and know enough to be good and pure. Religions together could help us to be better at being simply good and pure.

But admittedly, we must not be lost in the forest of leaves but see the helicopter view, be it for one religion or for all religions. This is even more so for all religions.

One religion is simply not enough. Learn from all religions and not from one - even for the simple and basic inner truth of need for goodness and purity found in all religions.

Perhaps as what Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 put it, religions as evolved institutions have become archaeological sites for us to dig in to find the relics and piece together more completely the inner truth taught by the founding sages in centuries past.

The inner truth is that little that matters and not the lot. But without the lot, we cannot go further. We cannot be attracted to and have the fortune to dig into and piece together more completely this little that is the inner truth. We can only have one view and not the whole view - 360 degree and inside view.

Know that little that matters, not the lot

No 960 of Living Life Series 1

Ji Gong (济公) knows only a little by contemplating on crickets and why life is just like the crickets playing out in all aspects of life resulting in more strive and no peace. He ends up knowing more with just a little. He ends up having peace by knowing how to have peace amid the storms and conflicts of life.
Know a little and don't be floored by the lot. Know more and be lost and need to know even more. Often this seems to be the case in religion.

Why then religion must teach that much more and has allot to tell?

Well, it has to dangle many carrots to capture the attention of the many so that at least a carrot or two will attract you to the house of God.

But then after being attracted, you may be lost and bewildered by the many more attractions in that religion. These may end up as distractions or diversions. You may end up lost in the leaves of the forest when the leaves in your hand if you know them well may help you to go the mile.

Go for the basic or inner truth that any religion will have and common to all religion. This is the message of the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 when he descended in 1969.
The basic is just common sense. No need even for religion to know that. Be good. Be simple in mind. Be one in mind not with mind all over the place. Be pure and go for this - the must-have. The rest are not must-have. If you are too distracted, you will not see this simple logic and focus in life.

The initial message is to believe and be saved

No 959 of Living Life Series 1

The easiest way to tell a child what to do when starting school is to listen to the teacher and belief in him.

The easiest way for people to be attracted to a religion is to tell them they only need to believe and all will be well. All religions are like that.

There is need to believe when starting off and if we do that, all will fall in place. God and saints will do the rest.

It would be foolhardy to tell a child, he needs to know what is quantum theory when he does not know his alphabets. It is only logical to tell him he needs to believe in his teacher and he will be alright.

Likewise, for the many staring off in religion, belief in God and saints is the key. It is illogical and irrational to tell him he needs to have insight meditation and mindfulness and the whole works.
The starting off message is to belief to be saved. In any temple or house of God, no less a temple of the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨, all newbies need to do is to belief and their wishes will be granted.
Issues will be no issues and even if big will be less of issue with blessings of God and saints. This the good lord did say. By just believing, they will be on their way. It is as easy as that.

But when already on the way, they must do better than just believe. They must cultivate themselves to be on the Way of Tao present not just in Taoism but in all religions and in the teachings of all saints and sages.

Blind to God if blind to The Word

No 958 of Living Life Series 1

No one has seen God not even those in the heavens except those in his court. He is not the beginning of all and he is not the end of all. We would like to think of him as the alpha and the omega and that will bring us more awe. We think he is awesome and so long as we do not see him he will be more awesome.

But what is the point of being head over heels in awe of him if that makes us blind to life and to him. After all, we are all told that God is everywhere but if this be the case, we should easily see God. Why are we so blind and not see him when he is everywhere.

Well, really, there appears to be no answer. God is everywhere. He is also in the saints and sages we know. He is in the Word behind the teachings of all religions.

The basic Word is the same but men are blind to this and think religions are different and not the same. Religions are there to reach out to men. Religions like God are everywhere to reach out to men and beings.

But men don't seem to see God. Men are blind to the oneness of religions. Men are blind to the Word behind religions and instead see the ugliness of life in place of the Godliness of life.

Men are blind to the Word - the inner truth behind and underlying all religions and life. This is the point that the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 wants us to know.

Though we do not see God even though he is everywhere, we can feel his presence and in that way see him if we can see the oneness of the world of diversity of life and religions. He who sees the Word and the oneness of the Word in life, in this world and in religions knows and sees God and saints.

No wonder the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 says that his image is the Word and the Word is in his image. What is the Word?

The Word is how to be good in life. We need to be good, avoid evil and to purify ourselves and be like God and saints. To do that we must be steadfast and directed at living in the Word. We must be good at balancing and being atop the vicissitudes of life, the ups and downs - the yin and yang as depicted by the feet of the good lord atop the elements.
Like in the image of the Word, we must hold on to the scepter of the Word or Way in the right hand and be devoted to the Way with the left. This is as depicted in the image of the good lord.

Life is God and always with us

No 957 of Living Life Series 1

In anything we do in life, we do it not only for self but for others as well. This others can be family members, colleagues at work or in society. Some refer to this as the need to work in tandem with fellow men.

Initially, for most, it is because of the need to meet the needs of self. We cannot do this without meeting the needs of relevant others. This in itself is a lesson in life. This has to do fellowship.

We need to meet the needs of others if we want to meet our needs. No one can meet his own needs without meeting the needs of relevant others.

If we want to love ourselves, we must learn to love others and the better we are at this the better this will be. Love should not be centered on the individual but on more than one. Even love for close one must involve concerns and welfare of the family of the close one.

There is thus many lessons in life we can pick up. Life is the living gospel and tells us how to love ourselves and why if we don't also love others, we won't be able to love ourselves effectively.

The converse is also true that if we just don't love ourselves, we cannot effectively love others for the self sacrifice and negligence would mean we cannot go far in loving others. Wisdom must take center stage.

That life is the living gospel is behind the teachings of all religions. This was stressed by the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨. Life is the best teacher on how to be better as person, as family and as society. Life is God and is always there with us. The lessons of life promote worldly as well as spiritual growth.

How wrong is it to be wrong?

No 956 of Living Life Series 1

It is never wrong to err. To err is human and to forgive is divine.

It is never wrong to be wrong. What is wrong is when we do not know we are wrong.

We need to be mindful and we need to know our shortfalls and try to improve. That is all we need to do for now.

There is no need to be perfect and be troubled at heart by this. There is no place for guilt as guilt stifles and chokes life.

The good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨says that when we do wrong, we wrong not God or saint but ourselves and others. How can God and saints be hurt if they are God and saints?
Why would God and saints punish men? Men will have to face the consequences of their actions.

So long as men try their best, is mindful and attempts to improve themselves, they are on the right path.

Meanwhile men must face the consequences of their actions. No man can pass the consequences to others, let alone God and saints.

Men must learn from life and be better off. Life is the living gospel. Didn't the good lord say so? He did.

Like what Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 says, men can ask for blessings so that small issues can be no issues and big issues can be less issue. But he must make the effort and make amends. Sitting pretty and doing nothing except praying to God and saints will not do. God and saints help those who help themselves.

Back to the school of life

No 955 of Living Life Series 1

Do you know that Earth is the paradise for learning for those who came from paradise up there? Would you believe that there is vast opportunities for learning here than in the paradise that men look forward to in the afterlife?

Yet, when we are down here we treasure not the chance to be man. Rare is birth as man. The Buddha said so, didn't he?

He even had to come down as man before he could attain the highest stage of enlightenment and his death as man was the ultimate in his enlightenment when he discarded his physical form to be returned as dust. That which came from dust must return to dust.

If we do not be attentive to the lessons of life as man and waste and while away our life, we are daydreaming in class of life. We end up not learning and back tracking. What then are the consequences?

We create problems for ourselves and end up in living hell of sorts either of hell of sheer sensual indulgence or hell of sheer running away from the trials and tribulations of life. Running away from life is like trying to run away from school - playing truant.

But unlike the real school, the school of life is everywhere and we cannot run away from school of life. Religions all teach us to be good and to learn from life. Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 says that life is the living gospel.
Yes, it is the school for us to learn to be good, avoid evil and purify the spirit. Life is the school for us to know better the teachings of all saints in all religions and best of all to put the teachings into practice - to effect them out in the school of life.

What more can we ask for when life affords us the chance to learn from life? We learn to be at peace to have more hope at being better at having peace. The ultimate peace makes saints out of all of us. Let us return to our mission or goal at being back to the school of life.

The reality that all must wake up to

No 954 of Living Life Series 1

Many are those who believe that just by believing they are saved. But mere believing in the Word and the saint is not enough. There must be living in the Word. The Word is God and saint. The Word must come to life in the man.

Yet, many think that belief alone is good enough and they try to bring in others to believe in what they believe thinking that by so doing they can please God and saints and win the favor of God and saints. This is as though salvation is based on the favor of God and saints.

These people are good people. They are people of faith. They want others to be like them so that God and saints will favor them even further. If only salvation is just like that, how wonderful this will be!

In fact, many saints have been quoted as saying that just believe and call out their names, and the saints will come to their aid. Well, if this is true, that will be good. Indeed, this is true and many will be blessed by the saints even in this life and be born in paradise created by the saints in the afterlife.

But for the more discerning, this is only the means to the end. This is only the first step. The faithful have a long way to go. They have to learn and live in the Word. They have to purify themselves and be saints one day. This is the reality all must achieve.

Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 says that we must believe in all saints of religions. Saints can bless us and in afterlife bring us to paradise. But we need to go further. We need to live in the Word or Doctrine - to be good, avoid evil and purify the mind.
The good lord commented that the Doctrine is in his image and his image is the Doctrine. He who sees and lives in Doctrine sees and knows God and saints. He who does not, sees not and knows not even if God and saints are before him.

Ego space is the devil in man

No 953 of Living Life Series 1

Every man has an ego space. When people interact they enter one another's ego spaces. That is when there is clash of ego spaces and there will be no peace for those involved.

With a saint, there is no ego space and in place of ego space, there is peace or what some refer to as loving kindness. The ego space is nil and the divine peace of love for all beings extends to all who enters the energy field of the saint. Some call this the holy spirit and in the old days this was referred to as the holy ghost.

Anyone who enters the energy field of the saint feels sense of peace and fulfillment until he extends his ego space, pollutes and disrupts the peace and divine love that abounds. That results in issues and problems.

The problems and issues of men are many and plentiful. This the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 commented.
All that men need to do and know is to be aware of the ego spaces they created and reduce this ego space by negating the egoistic nature of men.

Men even bring their ego spaces into religion and that makes a mockery of religions when religions instead of working for the peace and love of men end up fomenting problems aplenty for men.

Religions instead of working for the good of the many will be far from good. That would be sad. That is not the wish of God and saints. Well, we may say that ego space is the devil in man.

For the man driven by ego, he will say that when everything falls into place, he will have peace. But this don't seem to come.

But the man of God and saints who has no ego says that once there is peace, everything will fall into place.

Let there be no ego space. Ego is the devil in man and with ego, there will be no peace.

The best of both worlds in a house of God

No 952 of Living Life Series 1

Given the choice, who would not want to go to a house of God where they can get the same pleasures of life as outside the house of God. It would be a bonus if the monk or priest is a star of the show with ability to sing, rap and dance.

The pleasures which they want but could not get enough of they could get more in the house of God and saints. This culture has set in and is not a bad thing.

With dim and flashing lights and latest technology for loud and state of the art music, who would not prefer the house of God to the entertainment spots outside the house of God.

Gone will soon be the days when people go to the house of God for solitude and quiet time to be with God and saints in silent prayer and communication.

The modern priest or clergy has to be in the spotlight and ensure he is in the spotlight to capture the hearts and attention of men. People do not just go for the personal bonding time with God and saints but go for the nectar of worldly pleasures and entertainment in a house of God.

Let this be and in fact God and saints may not have objections though whether this is ideal is another matter. The good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 says that the flower should not be blamed for insects coming to it for nectar. Blame not people for coming to a house of God not just for spiritual time with God and saints but also for entertainment and be led in entertainment and indulgence in pleasures of the senses.
Men of modern society indeed are fortunate to have the best of both worlds in a house of God - spiritual and social joys and pleasures. This if viewed correctly can be a blessing.

We need more of those to come to a house of God. We have to provide the nectar for them to come to the house of God, for otherwise they may not come. Many out there tend to be lost to spiritual influence and can only be lured to a house of God in whatever ways that are necessary to bring them in

In age-old Chinese temples the nectar that attracts insects to the flower can take the traditional free vegetarian food through out the day on assigned days of the month. This is no different from the pomp and noise of light, music, song and dance in some houses of God and saints. But some will not agree.

In religion, all are right and about love

No 951 of Living Life Series 1

In religion, it is never right to say that others are wrong so long as what others do will not harm those around.

If we do not ascribe to this, we will come to the ridiculous point when everyone will seem to be saying everyone else is wrong or not so right.

The reason is that religion is a personal concern between God and the person. Thus in this light, we must view what others say correctly and not be offended.

Religion is about love and if we have love in us, we learn to respect how others think and do not judge lest we be judged. All are right and need to be more right. That is the way to go.

To the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨, the way forward is to see the similarities of all beliefs not just the differences. There is that same love in all beliefs.
This includes love for those and in those who are less right and less fortunate. The sages of religions take the lead in this and we should be like them.

Love should not mislead us to end up not loving some or worse still damning some and hurting them. That will work against what love is all about. Religion is about love and love must not hurt or harm. All are right in religion.

Religion is love and never wrong if it is about love. Ill-will taking on the cloak of love is like wolves in sheep clothing.

Religion is about love and love should never be wrong unless we love only ourselves and not others - have bad feelings of others. If we love ourselves truly, we cannot afford to feel bad of others.

At most we feel sorry for them but we cannot impose on them our values. But often we think we know better and want to boss around. This creates bad feeling.

Bad feeling for others would be creating problems for ourselves. But alas, like it or not, we can indeed be problems to ourselves. Men is never perfect and the issues of men are many and plentiful. This too did the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 say.

The main folly or problem lies in ego or self-conceitedness. Lack of mindfulness on this compound the folly. That is the mother of all problems.

But to make matters worse, lack of wisdom and blind faith in men of religion can be woe to man as well. Many have intellect but no wisdom.

They are skewed in use of logic and they not only think they are right but also end up misleading others as well. This is not that they are wolves in sheep clothing but that they cannot be of help to themselves let alone be of help to others.

They cannot think clearly and correctly for themselves. How are they to think for others and teach others how to think and decide? Isn't this not uncommon?

Blame not the flower for insects coming to it. This the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 says. Blame not religion for having such men. In fact, such men are the very reason why there must be religion. In a way, religion appears to be meant for them, or rather they need religion more than other men in general.

But it is a different thing altogether if they think religions need them. Then they can stir up the hornets nest when there should be none at all in religion.

In religion, all are right and about love. But the unfortunate part comes when there is only love for self at expense of others or at times love for others at expense of self. In either case, there is silly thinking - ignorance.

Men of religions are yet to be saints and may still be ignorant in some way. So it is best that men in religions focus on helping themselves first before they can step beyond and think of helping others.

There must be that sense of pragmatism and balance that sages refer to as Tao. This is depicted in the image of the good lord with feet atop the elements of yin and yang.

Some like it hot. Some cold. So is this wrong?

No 950 of Living Life Series 1

Some like it hot. Some like it cold. Some like it lukewarm. Don't tell me that you would insist that it better be this or that.
from wikipedia
That is the problem with some men, more so in religion. When men have a choice to differ and to be on their own, why must some men simply insist that others do their bidding when God and saints adopt a hands off approach?

Some men simply think others cannot think for themselves when God allows men to be even wrong. They cannot control and manage their children, let alone manage other men as though these other men are little children.

They feel insecure and lonely. They want others to do as they do and to believe as they believe. Even those already in the same house of God may not see eye to eye and may splinter off and go separate ways to start new sect or denomination. They succeed and have God's blessings.

For goodness sake, be realistic and know that men may not do the bidding of other men just out of faith for they will end up responsible and facing the consequences of what they do. They will learn from what others tell them and they decide what to do, not let others decide for them.

Life is full of learning opportunities at every turn and corner, and with every view and word of fellow men. Life is the living gospel. This is echoed by all saints and the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 is no exception.
Some like it hot. Some like it cold. So is this wrong? What can the matter be? The matter cannot be with God. The matter can only be with some men who think they can think for God and think for other men.

The choice in life of fellowship or self resilience

No 949 of Living Life Series 1

Many choose to do what others do. They join the crowd and find this great and joyous. They like the fellowship and camaraderie. That is alright and not a bad idea.

But sometimes this will be like flowing downstream with the current and having more of the pollutants and what have you rather than the water.
If you want clear water, you need to go upstream against the current. Well, this requires effort and the person must part ways with the crowd. That is what sages of history like Jesus, Lao Tse, Ji Gong and Gautama did and they succeeded.

So the issue is whether we want to have fellowship and join the crowd or to be different by parting ways from the crowd.

For most, it is to be with the crowd for life with support from and with the many is fulfilling and an end in itself. It brings out the joy and fun in life - never mind if it is just flowing along downstream.

It is of course the easier way and more convenient as well than going upstream against the flow for clear water at the source. Often this will have to be the choice.

What is your choice? Of course, it is alright to go with the crowd till such times you are ready to pick yourselves up, stand up and move upstream to the source for clear water.

But then, you may not have fellowship of the many. The choice in life is in fellowship or self resilience.

Many would rather go for fellowship and strength in numbers but what if this means that the blind end up following the blind?

Often, it may still be good to join the crowd and be motivated in life. But there must still be that awareness and insight on life and truth.

It must be for some good reason that the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 reminded us that for clear water we need to go upstream against the current for clear water.
He too did tell us to have strength of numbers and to be of blessings to one another. But we must be like candle flames to light up one another's life and to light up the lives of others.

Of course there is the risk that when we join the crowd, are we moving into darkness or light. We need insight and mindfulness. We need to be candle lights of truth.

Far from God may be near to God

No 948 of Living Life Series 1

Is the one who claims to know God and to be near God true to what he claims? What matters is the heart and not what one does or what goes through the gut? This is just so common sense that we have often forgotten and need to be reminded by none other than Ji Gong 济公 the living Buddha.
Many are loud as to their allegiance to God. But does God need our allegiance if indeed he is God?

Who is insecure man or God? Man is insecure and feels that God may reject man. God is not insecure and in no way is concerned that man will reject him.

The near to God may be the very ones who go crazy over his name and go all out to swear allegiance to him. But if this makes the man more good and peaceful as man, that will be good.

But if this makes the man go berserk and swear expletives at those who don't do what he does in the name of God, then it would be a very different matter?

Would God be pleased if man scolds another let alone hurt another just because that other will not be as crazy as the man over God? Often or perhaps at times, man may think that craziness over God and idolizing God are all that matter. Goodness in other areas don't count. This seems to be what they think.

But the problem is that some men go overboard, they hate and damn others who don't go along with them over God. They end up Godless and heartless though they commit their hearts to God. They may be near but are far from God.

Now then far from the crowd and far from the noises that hail from some houses of God, there are the quiet ones who have goodness at heart. They do good from the heart and not because they need to please others or God and saints above. They do not do good out of fear or allegiance to any God head. They are like Ji Gong 济公.

They are Godly though seemingly Godless. They are near though far from God. The far may be near and the near far. This the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 says.
The far from God may be near to God if they are good from the heart and of course not when they have no heart. How can the heartless be all heart? They may proclaim to be of God but where is their heart in goodness and in God. That is the crux of the matter.

Then of course, there are those who do not believe in God and who are heartless.

There will also be those with heart in goodness and who do not believe in God. Mind you, this is not that they do not believe in good or have no heart.

Let us be discerning and be able to think straight and clear for ourselves. Be insightful that the far from God may be near to God.

God one and yet not one like religions of the day

No 947 of Living Life Series 1

Whoever says that "my God is not your God" is as right as those who say that "my God is your God".

God is not as man as many think he is and yet he is like man and feels for man.

He even allows men to think of him the way men deem fit.

Thus the presence of many religions and sects is testimony to this. Religions are there because men think differently with regards to God and spirituality. The goodness that is God is still one though different to the different peoples of the world

We have God through the saints among men who have come to us in history through the likes of the sages of history.

We have the goodness in men and this goodness is God in men. But the goodness in men need not be the same and yet of God as well.

Goodness prevail but takes on different shades. Diversity is in everything we know and that is the reality. Diversity is in goodness and in God.

Well, all said, God is not one but yet one. This is like the religions of the day.

God too is a person yet not because he is everywhere and in everything. We should be able to feel God everywhere and in every being if there is the goodness in us.

But we need to be wise and not blind to goodness. We should not see the wrong as good. But God and saints do not mind. They wait for us to open our eyes.

Goodness is the Word. The Word is God and saint. Goodness or Word is in the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨. The saint is the Word. The Word is the saint. Didn't the good lord said so ?
The good lord also said that we blame not the flower for insects coming to it for nectar. Blame not God and saints for the badness that men do in their good name. Small wonder that bad can be done in the name of good - in the name of God and the religions of the day.

This makes it even more painfully true that God is one yet not one like the religions of the day. God for sure is magnanimous and can accommodate the often strange and diverse ways of men though men themselves cannot do so. Man is not God and this is true, isn't it?

Sometimes, we do need to sit back and think hard. We need to challenge ourselves on how we view God and religions. God is one and yet not one like the religions of the day.

God is but yet man is not though man may be like God. Isn't this food for thought? But for goodness sake, let this be no fodder for discord and seeds for harm among men.

Understanding God through religions

No 946 of Living Life Series 1

The good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 said in 1969, "..., I shall not attempt to establish any new religion, cult or organisation. But I shall rekindle and re-invigorate the lost original basic teachings of religions. This will instill a better understanding in them."
This sums up the purpose of his descent in 1969. He wants people to know their religions better by knowing the common basic teachings of religions present even during the lifetimes of the founders.

As all religions are based on the same basics but elaborated differently to suit the needs of the culture and the times, it is not right to say that one is better than the other or to say that one is not right on this or that point.

The good lord said, "... it must be realized that the fundamentals of all religions and sects remain the same and enduring, because all originate from the same source -- GOD. Thus, when I deliver the GOD knowledge (Jade Emperor's teachings tau-li or tou-li), I shall neither comment (e.g. critique, judge) on existing religion nor commend (e.g. favor, prefer, highlight, be selective, be bias) any as the special one. All are unique and serve the divine plan in their respective way."

Instead of focusing on the differences and end up lost and troubled, men must see the inner basic truth common to all religions. Only then will men be able to understand the oneness of religions and why there are differences.
The good lord adds, "I want to turn man's mind away from being clouded by sectarian differences, so that man sees with clarity the truth in life. Man must cultivate insight on inner truth aspects that are common to and the basis of all faiths."

"Every saint and prophet considered the times, the circumstances and the prevailing mentality of the people before delivering appropriate sermon. Every saint or prophet would deliver doctrines in the format and style best suited to the prevailing times, people and needs during their times as men." Perhaps this sums up why religions must have differences though the basic teachings are same.

God is all knowing and consider the needs of peoples in different regions and eras. Religions need to be as different as the peoples in different regions and eras.
