The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

The Spirit of 42nd anniversary at Bo Tien Temple Singapore

No  85 of Living Life Series 1

There is the spirit of divine peace as well as the unmistakable aura of the ' leng'  the holy spirit of Divinity at the 42nd anniversary of Lord Bo Tien's descent.

The auspicious event was on 20th Oct 2010 corresponding to 13th day of 9th lunar month.

Below are some pictures of the shrine that will capture the infectious spirit of enthusiasm and devotion of the organisers. Photos are courtesy of SBP, a temple elder.

Close-ups of the lotus graphics capture the radiant devotion and pure thoughts of the devoted members and originators whose toil and efforts are resplendent of ardent devotedness to the lord saint.

A picture speaks a thousand words and more pictures will be even better.

Elder Ling Diung Kwong

Elder Ling is heartened and motivated by the pictures but made the point that the subsequent year celebration in 2011 marked the fateful milestone ceding from the above Bo Tien mission-related temple and the blooming of the welfare wing of that temple as a separate registered society and this may somehow, like it or not, give the erroneous impression of two independent missions, one spiritual by the lord saint and one social by man, that is, one by the temple and one by the welfare society when in fact all do have in mind that there is only one mission - the mission by Lord Bo Tien which includes all good deeds, not just charity activities but more importantly and explicitly the gift of doctrine to society as per the 1978 message of Lord Bo Tien. (Historical version of Bo Tien Chor Choo's 1978 Anniversary Message...)

The definitely watershed milestone move however is by and the sole prerogative of that mission-related temple  to better facilitate social advantages and convenience for a more effective welfare thrust in the wider society - a perhaps indisputable wholesome and applaudable means to the end but yet of course far from and not the end in itself.

The end however is and always will still be the doctrine mission of the lord saint. All are in concord with that but may differ in implementation in their own ways due to group and personal preferences and styles. Some are more discerning, perceptive and farsighted.

But whatever good deeds men set their eyes on, if they can achieve, they will be rewarded. The lord saint reiterated in his 1978 message that "the good deeds done in this life would be repaid perhaps instantly in the present or in the future." (verbatim quote of the message text on page 26 of the book LORD BO TIEN'S GUIDANCE published in year 2000 by Bo Tien related temple Bo Tien Temple  Singapore.)

Do also read for cross reference and comparison as well as for wider insight, the  additional perspectives in The 1978 message of Lord Bo Tien set the direction for the mission... and thereafter you can arrive at a better understanding and insight.
