The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Live life with but yet not with society

No 15 of Living Life Series 1

Live life with society and yet not with society.

This may seem at first impression a contradiction of sorts, but like all of this world of yin and yang, every yin yang pair or complement is a contrast and contradiction of sorts. Yin and yang refers to opposite entities e.g. fire and water and contingencies e.g. honour dishonour, praise blame, joy and sorrow, gain loss, health and ill-health.

Only when we reconcile with this reality and be on top of them, can we be at peace.

Ji Kong, the living buddha to the Chinese, left society when he was asked to leave monastic life and he led a wandering life, free from curbs, cravings and attachment. But yet, he was with society helping those in need. He left and yet was with society. He neither denied nor was he attached to societal trappings, norms and nuances. He was never with the societal ways nor against them. He was simply on top of the yin and yang, not swept by yin and yang but atop them as portrayed by image of Lord Bo Tien with feet astride the elements of life.

We must be steady to stay the course as portrayed by lord saint's left hand in salutation. We must like Lord Bo Tien hold on to the sceptre of divine truth with the right hand. Spirituality must take precedence or dominance over the mundane. Thus it must be held with the dominant right hand.

Be like Ji Kong and be with society but not part of societal trappings and woes. That is the way of the saints and we will be at peace. Then, we will be asset to self and others. We will be having  divine peace of heaven here and now and not wait for the after life.

We must neither be at receiving end of yin and yang in society nor run away. But we stay at peace with life in society by being on top of the yin and yang.

We may go cranky, irritable and far from peace if we seclude ourselves from society but we will suffer the same if we immerse in society and be tossed around.

Do live life with society and yet not with society. This is not a paradox but the way to have that more of inner peace.

The doctrine is in the image and the image is the doctrine. We must live life as portrayed by the image of lord saint Lord Bo Tien.

May we live life the way heavenly saints like Ji Kong, the living buddha, and Lord Bo Tien (a messenger of Heaven for the Inner Truth behind all religions) would want us to have.
