IN THE BEGINNING
In the beginning, there was God and He had with Him the Heavenly Pure Beings. These are the Saints who have been there with Him, and not ascended to sainthood from lower realms.
A HEAVENLY SPIRIT FROM GOD
Lord Bo Tien is one such saint. He is a Heavenly Spirit / Saint from God and by God for all beings. He came down to wild shrubby Woodlands where coconut trees lining muddy tracts sway in the wind under the glow of moonlight and on many a starry night
WOODEN HUT AND ONENESS IN HEART
In a wooden hut, did He make known the decree of Almighty God the Jade Emperor the doctrine of Heaven through Bro. Philip of persuasion different from that of Chinese temple tradition. He emphasised the oneness of religions and the oneness of men and beings. Above all, He reiterated the need for universal love of beings for beings.
Because of dust in their eyes, men may not see the oneness in diversity of the varied and colourful hues of sects and faiths.
Only with oneness of heart could men be saved by grace of Heaven.
THE LENG / DIVINE SPIRIT
With the Leng of Heaven (the Divine Spirit) through Lord Saint the temple was able to draft young men in the 1970s who were police officers and those still in National Service NS to do Heaven’s Mission On Earth. With oneness of heart and with discipline and precision ingrained by NS, they did spread the oneness in diversity and sow the seeds of heavenly compassion for all beings.
(They were led in the early days by men and women like Elder Ling Diung Kwong - the protem President, Alfred Toh, William Chew - the protem and long time Secretary, Jefrey Kong Ming Er, P. Philip, Chee Sin Hee, Michael Wong, Lingam Duray, Pete Kong Ming Sin, Chan Meng Kwang, Henry Lee, Yap Ah Hua, Tan Ngiap Peng, Andrew Tan, Ong Kok Leng, Michael Aw, Nancy - Mrs Aw, Dorothy Toh, Mrs Ling, David Tay, Ann Ho, Tay Chong Keng, Poona, Ah Mee, Ah Huat, Romeo, Eldwin Toh, Ah Bee, Lee Cheng, Mr Wee, Ivy Goh, Eleanor, Cynthia and many more such as Lee Ah Hin up north at Sitiawan connection.)

LABOUR OF LOVE AND COMPASSION
They sweated and bared their souls to toil the ground and hearts of men. This labour of love and compassion entailed sacrifices for the good of the many and out of compassion for the many
THE SHRINE IN A HUT
There arose in a rented dilapidated hut the altar of the Lord in trinity with Universal Buddha and Goddess Kuanyin, ever merciful the trinity that mirrors God, His Saint, and the Mission / Leng.
THE FIRST PAKUA
On the floor, one could be see the octagon Pakua of yin and yang, the dualities of life for all beings. The mastery of this will lead anyone to divine peace and ease as well as goodwill amongst all men and beings
ORIGINS OF AGED HOME
The Mission in earnest at the Lord’s behest required that the shrine gave way to the first origins of the aged home. This came to fruition and saw the light of day.
THE OPEN SHRINE
The shrine then came to the open under awning with four pillars but such a shrine was not spared from harsh elements of the world, namely rain, wind and sunshine. The four pillars of the awning were like the religions of the world and they faced one another in oneness under the same shelter of heaven represented by the awning roof
With devotion, this soon gave way to the shrine hall with walls and roof but the most memorable years were when the shrine was just four pillars and an awning.
THE GROWTH OF COMPASSION
With the aged home for destitute taking over the shrine in the hut, the home grew to two dormitories and aircon stores in containers at Woodlands for the Mutual Help and Care to provide provisions for the needy still able to live within society. This was as divined by Heaven to be fulfilled by men.
THE TEMPLE OF HEAVEN ON EARTH
But alas the Woodlands site was only a temporary premise and it had outgrown to need a permanent premise, and this called for a multi-tier centre
At International Road at Jurong would this centre be, and it would be where we could call our own. No more temporary premise, no more containers for stores, and no more dilapidated huts but a monumental building to motivate all to do more, and to enshrine the Mission of Heaven on Earth. It was certainly befitting the status of Temple of Heaven on Earth, a temple for the oneness of beings and religions
The superstructure soon after rose from the ground with three storeys, a flat rooftop garden of sorts as well as a basement car park.
THE OCTAGON SHRINE AREA
An octagon pakua shrine sits facing a central air well from where descended a glass pyramidal cone as though beckoning Heaven to bless the shrine with the light of the Holy Spirit of the Jade Emperor.
THE FOUR PILLARS
Streams of moving water surround the shrine, and four pillar waterfalls are at the four corners. They represent the main religions of the world bringing blessings to men, and the four pillars face one another in oneness with the Holy Spirit to help men to master the dualities of life as embodied in the concept of the pakua octagon.
In another sense, they do represent the four heavenly kings showering continuous merits for beings
THE DIVINE ESSENCE / HOLY SPIRIT
AS PRIME MOVER
The ground temple proper supports in the upper levels the aged home, a visiting doctor’s clinic room and stores for provisions for Mutual Help and Care as well as various common function rooms. This literally reminds us that Heaven through Saints will support love and compassion, which in turn must be centred and nourished by the Divine Essence, what some refer to as the Holy Spirit or Leng in Chinese Hokkien dialect.
THE DOCTRINE MISSION TAKES PRECEDENCE
What is more important in the long term is to flower the effort in the area of doctrine as the Mission of the lord saint is in the area of doctrine - the Inner Truth or Four Pillar Doctrine
