No 150 of Living Life Series 1
Our life depends more on ourselves than others. Who we mix with and what we do have to do with our own self.
We must be wise to mix with the wise and bring out the wisdom and the better side in others.
If we dwell in negativity like fear, anger and nitpicking, we elicit the likewise in others.
If we dwell or indulge in daydreaming of the best of the best, what we want will usually be a miniscule fraction of our over wanting.
We can dream on but dreams if not realistic remains as dreams. Go for the real world and day-to-day gains. They may not be more than ideal or picture perfect. But they are what you can have and perhaps a wee bit more.
Know what you can have and go for it. This would be best for now. Do not imagine the worst and do not be reckless either. Do not go for all or nothing.
Half a loaf is better than none. Better to be safe than sorry. A bird in hand is worth two in the bush. Go for peace and the little blessings of the day. They do add up to make your day.
All the above are reflected in the body language of the image of Lord Bo Tien with left hand in salutation beckoning all to have peace in life by moderating polarities such as praise and blame, health and wealth, spiritual and worldly goals, self needs and others' needs, fear and recklessness to point of impunity, timid submissiveness to intimidating overbearing dominanting distastefulness.
Cheers and life would be more livable and pleasant that way. We better enable life and not disable life. All will vouch for this.
Thus BWY would summise. This is the "every day gospel that seems so trite. But it is that that gives us light to see truth so bright."
