The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Know ye the heavenly art

No 173 of Living Life Series 1

(1) Brethren, does it serve any purpose why the Lord introduces to us the heavenly art.

(2) The experience of asking the Lord to bless us with the heavenly art while sitting cross legged in lotus style is to ask for the holy spirit of Divinity to be with us.

(3) The initiation ceremony in earlier years was to pray in earnest to request guidance of the Lord, and to consume three coloured incense papers, red, yellow and green burnt and immersed in water.

(4) Nowadays a simple act of faith of just requesting or just consuming a cup of water in front of the shrine of the Lord would suffice, but preferably guided by a temple member.

(5) But not all get the experience from the word go. Some would have to be patient to try over many occasions.

(6) Once there is faith, and once there is focus of the mind to enable the mind to be of right frequency, the force of the Holy Spirit will descend via guidance of a personal guardian being. He will initiate the art, which will be different for different individuals, but the same specific style for the same individual for the long term. The force will be stronger if there is concentration and no distraction, which means the eyelids should be kept shut.

(7) Feeling of tingling sensation and perhaps some warmth would be unmistakable, but just relax and allow divine nature to take its course. Have no fear of losing control or that you are in trance for you will be conscious, and the moment you resist or request, the force will subside. But to fully enjoy the rapture of experience, it is good to have faith, and concentration. It is good to empty the mind and be mindful of none other than the divine sensation. It is good to do it in company of temple members at the temple to enhance confidence.

(8) Those who are heavy with thoughts and worries may not have full breadth of experience

(9) Brethren, the spiritual art is almost unique and part and parcel of the divine experience at Bo Tien temple to give faith and strengthen devotion to God.

(10) It is to help us in concentration exercise of the mind so that the mind can be more focus and not distracted

(11) It is a sensation or feeling for practice of awareness of sensation. One way of developing mindfulness of the mind is to focus on feelings or sensations.

(12) The above two aspects will help us to develop good mind habits and allow us to cultivate moment to moment mindfulness in our daily life so that we will be more calm and at peace. In short, there are all the ingredients for spiritual mental cultivation characteristic of the meditation in total sense, but in the Bo Tien way.

(13) The experience exemplifies why we are far (the Lord is in high dimension of Heaven) and yet near to the Lord (through heavenly art)
