THE PURPOSE IS TO SAVE SOULS. IT IS WAY BEYOND NORMAL GOOD WORK LIKE CHARITY AND WELFARE ACTIVITIES. NO ONE SHALL BE SAVED BY GOOD WORKS ALONE BUT BY MORE THAN GOOD WORK. THERE IS NEED TO BE IMBUED WITH THE BASIC DOCTRINE COMMON TO AND BEHIND ALL RELIGIONS AND SECTS. LIVE IN DOCTRINE. DOCTRINE IN LIFE IS PARAMOUNT.

The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

To embrace God or to embrace the devil in us

No 137 of Living Life Series 1

The doctrine of Heaven expounded through the various religions and sects is to help us to be better beings, good enough to be united with God and his heavenly saints

To do so, beings must understand the oneness in diversity of beings, and the same oneness in diversity is true of religions and the sects.

The diversity is to enable divine God to reach out to more beings in various dimensions, and in various situations in life.

If we approach religion with ego, the very purpose of God’s representative to help us be closer to God by surrendering our individual being to the greater being in Divinity becomes defeated as we cling on to our individuality and zealously guard our own ego tuft.

When this happens, the diversity is there but where is the oneness? The diversity then perpetuates the individualities or egos not only of beings but also of the religions and sects to the point that there is no oneness as originally decreed by God.

Beings steep in ego start perceiving the supremacy of their individualities and this translates to the wrong perception of supremacy of their very own religion or sect. Then the God or ultimate truth behind all religions and sects become lost to the beings who were blinded by ego.

Lord Bo Tien is decreed by God to be one representative to bring beings away from the devil of the ego to the fold of God, from being blinded by dark ego to seeing things as they are, which is to see the oneness in diversity of beings and religions. He reiterated that all are united by the oneness of God, that all religions reach out to people in their own ways. All religions will have their own way of holding on to their followers. In this way through diversity, more beings can be saved. Heaven presents the basic truth in different forms to appeal and reach out to more people.

This is the very principle of the inner truth behind religions. There is oneness of Truth, and there is the oneness of God behind all religions. The Four Pillar Doctrine refers to this.

It is why the Lord Saint reminded time and again that He descended not to start any new religion but to remind and enlighten beings that the same truth and God is behind all religions, but men clouded by ignorance and ego fail to see this. Religions then become their super-ego for them to claim supremacy of one religion over another. If the Lord had started a new religion, He would invariably end up re-enforcing this wrong trend.

Even amongst disciples of the Lord are those who are blinded by ego, and they feel that they have better understanding of the teachings of the Lord, and they try to lord over their fellow brothers in the Lord.

If to reach out to beings, there must be different or diverse religions and sects, do remember that practice and understanding of the teachings of the Lord Saint likewise can never be uniform but have to be more diverse.

However, there is oneness in diversity if we adopt the divine principle of egolessness (that is, having pure or good self) but this will not be so if we go the way of the devil by embracing the devil of the ego in us, and see the devil of the ego (ugly self) in our brethren. We should forgo the devil of the ego, and embrace the godliness or saint of no-ego (pure or good self). When we can do so, we will see and foster the god or saint in our brother beings and not the devil of the dark ego (arrogant or ugly self) in them. Some would refer this as embracing the Holy Spirit, and fostering the Holy Spirit in our fellow beings as opposed to embracing the devil, and fanning the devil in our fellow beings.

Do we want to embrace the God in us or do we want to embrace the Devil in us? The answer is obvious, but still the choice is for each and every being to make, though Heaven wills that all should be saved…….and no one is condemned ….even those in hell will be rehabilitated or saved...

Lest you forget

Do not make the mistake of idolizing any man who tells you about the Word. He is in the same boat as you even if religion refers to him as a religious leader. Mere mention of a religious leader is as good as encouraging idolising of that man. Why must there be hierarchy in religion? Hierarchy is conventional but may end up as liability rather than a necessity or asset. There should be no caste or hierarchy system in religion. No one is to be considered above another in religion. A religious leader or follower is a servant to serve you and not a leader to be idolised. Do not put him on the pedestal and make a monster out of him.

MAY ALL BE WELL AND HAPPY

May all be well and happy. May they have peace. May our departed friends and kins be well, happy and have divine peace. The main writer wishes the best for all for those near and far. Our kins may be far when they had passed on to better lives but they are near though far. He remembers and wishes his parents Mr Siow Soo Koh and Mdm Tay Hung Siang, his uncles and aunties like Mr Tay Koon Huay, his cousins like Mr Tay Chong Sim and his friends like Mr Philip Png well and have abundance of life. May they be rich in spirit for without such ancestors, there will be no posterity - no us and no you and me. They have blessed us and we must blessed them in return forever and ever.
