No 911 of Living Life Series 1
In life and even in death, we must move on and not hang on. We can never hang on to time and the good old days. We simply have to move on and make do.
We cannot grumble about problems we have but make do with life and move on even if little we can do with regards to the problems. We can just do what we can but we cannot just hang on and on. We must have the composure and calmness to move on. This they refer to as equanimity.
There will be better days. Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 reminds that storms do not last forever and calm seas will return. While in a storm which we cannot do much about, we just stay calm and hang on. But once the storm has past, do not hang on to the losses we have but pick ourselves up and move on even if latter on, more storms come our way. Move on and do not hang on.
Even if there was no storm, of what use is it to hang on to the past. At best, the past can be good memories but we must live for the present and the future. We must move on and not hang on needlessly. We must not live in the past and be dead to the present and the future.
This principle of moving on and not hanging on needlessly works well both as a spiritual principle as well as a principle for worldly life.
Spiritually, it is good to have ideals to achieve but if we cannot arrive at the ideals soon, do not lament. Do not hang on to our inability to reach the ideals as yet. Do not feel let down and be guilt ridden. Do not hang on to the ideals and be devastated that we still have weaknesses or worldliness. Rome is not built in a day.
Do what we can spiritually. Do not be downcast if we are far off the mark but move on doing what we can. Even if we backslide, so what? Just pick ourselves up and move on. Do what we can. The little we can do spiritually is better than not doing at all.
So what if we continue to do what is not expected of us from the spiritual viewpoint. Do not have guilt as guilt stifles. Move on and do not hang on.
Even in death, do not hang on but move on. As long as there is more of life and this they refer to as rebirth, there is hope and opportunities even if there are problems and issues as well. Move on and do not hang on.
That is why in traditional Chinese funeral, there is much fanfare and pomp even if there are tears and grief. The idea is to give good feeling to both the departed and the living to move on and not hang on. There is hope and opportunities aplenty for both mundane and spiritual. If possible, have less of tears and grief and move on.
Give cheer to the departed and the living. Move on and not hang on needlessly. There is always more to life than we think.
This principle of moving on and not hanging on is encouraged by all religions in some way or other. This again illustrates the oneness in diversity of religions that the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 descended in 1969 to remind mankind and all beings to be aware off.
