The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Just be right, not populist or alarmist

No 1169 of Living Life Series 1

It is often so easy to promise to give to people what they want and then we can get their vote of allegiance. Whether we can deliver on promises and whether this can be sustained is the problem.

It is also easy to create fear to ensure that people will cave in to what we want them to agree. Just play on the fear factor. This is the alarmist approach.

We can certainly coerced people into submission or agreeing with us. We may not be able to buy their hearts but we can get their votes of concurrence, albeit unwillingly. This is another problem of men.

The good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 says that the problems and issues of man are many and plentiful in life - be it religious or in secular life.

Many men peddle religion by being either populist or alarmist - often even both combined.

But these will mean bending and twisting what is right to extent of presenting the wrong as right.

The analogy to the river and its downstream by the good lord is especially apt. Many twist and add on to religion such that the original basic teachings are no longer in the fore.

What is presented is not the clear water of the upper source but the highly polluted water of the downstream unrecognisable from clean water at the upper source. That is popular religion.

No pioneer or saint of religion can stop this. This is in the nature of men.

Men too tend to impose by creating fear of hell fire. Believe or being damned. This is alarmist.

No need to be populist or alarmist. Religion is not meant to gain favor or accolades of men. Religion is not to succour up to men.

Man is no lord and God and saint should never be lorded over by men. God and saints too do not want to lord over men. It is not necessary to create fear and alarm to round up men to do the bidding of God and saints.

What is necessary is just for men to be right. Religion run by men must be right, not populist or alarmist.

Don't worry if there is no crowd. Just bring out the good in men. It is a no-no to force out the good through alarm as this is never good. This is more the way of the devil.

It is also not right to treat men like kids and promise them what they want. What they want is often far from good though good at first.

Don't kid men by being populist. Don't be devil to men by being alarmist. Just do be right, not populist or alarmist.

Above all, do let God take care of the individual and not act for God. We will end up making mockery of divinity - only to attract mockery from other men.

The problems of men are indeed many and plentiful as the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 did say.
