THERE IS NEED TO BE IMBUED WITH THE BASIC DOCTRINE COMMON TO AND BEHIND ALL RELIGIONS AND SECTS. LIVE IN DOCTRINE. DOCTRINE IN LIFE IS PARAMOUNT.

The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Why the need to give to God and saints?

Why the need to give to God and saints? Whatever it is, even if there is no need, men will still want to give to God and saints somehow. But the motivation and wisdom behind counts and has to do with preferences and level of spirituality. Read on ...

We seek God and saints for blessings. God and saints give to us. Is there the need to give something to God and saints when we go to them for blessings? Let us think aloud.

Do we need to give before we will be given? Some say it is a matter of manners. At least bring a few oranges and offer some incense. That will do.

But do God and saints need anything from us? It is us who need them to bless us. Bringing a token of sorts is one thing. But us let not overdo or be seen as our trying to bribe God and saints or of trying to strike up a bargain. Don't ever say that we will give more if our wishes are granted. That is outright bargain.

Some say there is no need to give any material things be it money or incense paper. Just thank the lord and praise the lot. Sing hymns of praise and shout aloud. But do we need to do so?

Even men will find this odd and their hairs will stand on ends. Saying and showing our respect is one thing. Outward show and gifts even before we seek their blessings is another thing. Don't make it out as bribery or worse still a bargain.

Even after God and saints fulfill our requests, do we give something back to God and saints? Well, let's think through.

The best gift to God and saints and perhaps this is the only gift is that we be better in being good and we make good the blessings showered on us. No need to shout and scream. No need to dance and clap. No need to burn lorry load of incense.

All that is needed is this. We must be better off as men and be able to share the goodness with others and to help others. That is the best way to show our gratitude. We multiply the goodness of God and saints gave to us.

God and saints give to us without qualifying conditions. They never set any. We don't even need to be good enough in the first place.

The good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 says that all that is needed is that we have the heart to want their blessings. As long as we ask and is serious about it, have the heart to ask and really need it, God and saints will respond and come to us.

They know who are devoted to them and we don't need to show in kind - the material kind but just our heart will do. If the heart is there, they will surely come. Burning a thousand incense sticks will not do

The good lord says that they will grant requests especially if we have problems. Issues will be no issues. But some big issues even if they cannot be no issue will be small issues even if cannot be no issue. One reason is that there is the element of fate.

But if life is uneventful and we are reasonably well off, don't ask for the sky. Granting requests made out of greed may work against our own interests and harm us. God and saints will not do that.

They are out to help and bless - not to harm and disadvantage us. They will only do what will make us better men - better at being good. Heaven wants us to be better in what we are.

Even in religion, we must end up better in whatever religion we are in. God and saints will make us better know and appreciate life and truth through our respective religion. This is the overall mission which the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 has been tasked to carry out - to make us better in goodness through our individual religions.

Lest you forget

Do not make the mistake of idolizing any man who tells you about the Word. He is in the same boat as you even if religion refers to him as a religious leader. Mere mention of a religious leader is as good as encouraging idolising of that man. Why must there be hierarchy in religion? Hierarchy is conventional but may end up as liability rather than a necessity or asset. There should be no caste or hierarchy system in religion. No one is to be considered above another in religion. A religious leader or follower is a servant to serve you and not a leader to be idolised. Do not put him on the pedestal and make a monster out of him.

MAY ALL BE WELL AND HAPPY

May all be well and happy. May they have peace. May our departed friends and kins be well, happy and have divine peace. The main writer wishes the best for all for those near and far. Our kins may be far when they had passed on to better lives but they are near though far. He remembers and wishes his parents Mr Siow Soo Koh and Mdm Tay Hung Siang, his uncles and aunties like Mr Tay Koon Huay, his cousins like Mr Tay Chong Sim and his friends like Mr Philip Png well and have abundance of life. May they be rich in spirit for without such ancestors, there will be no posterity - no us and no you and me. They have blessed us and we must blessed them in return forever and ever.
