The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Better go for the story in religion than be sorry

No 1028 of Living Life Series 1


Religion is more than just a story of man and his love for God. It always has to be a simple story lest it cannot capture the attention and hearts of man. It needs not be true to fact but true to essence will do. 

 What is needed is for the story to capture the hearts of men, like the story of Adam and Eve and the journey to the West. These are stories to put across the teachings not in philosophy so lofty but in child-like manner that even children could identify with and learn the lessons behind as they grow old and whine. 

 Religion is good for all ages even with the same old story - a story that needs not be true to fact but true to truth and rich in wisdom more so as we grow with it. 

 Eve is for man in Adam but poor Adam has his wants and his wants make him go for the forbidden in the apple that becomes the Adam's apple we know. The want he has bring him no peace. 
Thus men like us that follow him have no peace and must seek the peace that we lost all because of the many wants we want starting with the original want in the apple tree in the garden of Eve. 

 We are all born like Adam with simple want - just to live and be with parents but as we grew it is a different story. Our wants just add up.

 We want one too many and that is the problem of man. The cause of woes is due to wants which God warn Adam from the beginning of time. But how could simple Adam bored by peace not be in want with Eve to egg him on to take to the forbidden wants in the symbolic apple tree of his day and time. 

 We must learn not to want and want but just make do with enough to move on in life with less wants so as to have more peace than wants. Have the peace by being atop the conflicting wants like depicted in image of the saintly one Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 with feet balancing on and suppressing wants.  
The only real and important want is to be with God and have the peace. Peace must be all we want. We must do what we need to have peace and for this we must want to have. This too is a basic want to be the end all of all wants. 
The story of Journey to the West is more enthralling than Adam and Eve but to many is a story too long with too much to digest that they are lost in fiction and fairy tale. Many just find it entertaining and just a story after all. They care not to know more from the story line. 

 But it shows that people of all kinds even beast and animal types too can reach Buddha light. Without such animals and beasts in men, even monks cannot be Buddhas at all. Yet the man in the monk in story is the leader for all to have glory in seeking truth of the real story of life. But without the beasts around, he too cannot make it in story and for us in the reality of life. 

 So we need all kinds of people to help one another and to learn from one another so that we will not be forever sorry. Then we can make it in the real story of life and be saints with God and heavenly saints alike. 

 Isn't it true that religion is more than just a story? It is better to go for the story religion wants to tell us than be sorry. This we all must know. But there is one further point. Do we just go for the story and be happy like children or do we go for the real story behind the story and make it in life as saints with God and the lords. 

 All men and beasts can be equal to God and lord - and even more. This is the story in life the Journey to the West wants all to know - not just be at peace with God  and lord 

 Another  lesson to learn is that demons need not be killed. There are many episodes of that in the Journey to the West. The demons can be won over and be good. Conversion is from bad to good - not change of allegiance from one religion to another. This will make all better in what they already are. 

 This mind you is what the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 seek out to achieve when he descended in 1969. To be at peace with God and saints is not enough. Well, we must be even better and be like them or even more. We must be better in what we are - in whatever religion we may be in.
