There are some
who come to a temple
to do good
run an old age home
to get a name for themselves
This is still good
and they will be blessed
But this is not the best good.
Though right yet not right
for those who know
the doctrine of God
and goodness for life,
not just for God and saints,
nor just for the ones in need
as many more do need as well,
nor for their own name indeed.
But true goodness that is pure
from the bottom of the heart
out of the purity of the spirit
that is cultivated through the Word
that is the truth behind the faiths.
This did the good lord
the messenger of God
Lord Bo Tien did say.
Do good out of purity
and not for own good
or good of a few
or for the good of God and saints
who if they are what they are
do not need it anyway.

This is living in the Word
and the Word is God
No need to glorify God
or the self by doing good.
Be pure and be good.
Give but not take in return
more will we receive
But how many are like that.
Fret not and feel no guilt.
Just be good and improve
bit by bit till purity grows
and glows to light up the saint
latent in you and in us.
Never do mind if ego comes in the way
and you are on the take
in wanting name and fame
from time to time the saints do say.
No one can be saint in one day
but easy to be swollen headed
and grin from ear to ear
when others praise and cheer.
This can easily happen
on any day and time they say.
This is why we need saint
to come knocking to wake us up
and not be in the cloud nine
but be down to Earth
and not be in the cloud nine
but be down to Earth
and be wee bit humble and divine
