THERE IS NEED TO BE IMBUED WITH THE BASIC DOCTRINE COMMON TO AND BEHIND ALL RELIGIONS AND SECTS. LIVE IN DOCTRINE. DOCTRINE IN LIFE IS PARAMOUNT.

The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Appeasing God out of fear is not what God wants

Many believe that God is everything. Isn't this a grave error of thinking - an obvious misrepresentation? God will look stupid when he appears helpless and unable to be God to those who need him most, that is when men have problems.

When men questions, the answer that comes back is that we must trust God and God has his reason for everything. The truth is that God is the ruler of Earth, Heaven and Hell but this does not guarantee that we have no problems and when problems do occur, why is not God doing anything for us?

Well, some of the devout and faithful wanting to please and appease God will say that God knows and we should not question God. It is not that we should not question God, but that in the first place why don't we question ourselves.

Why are we having problems in life? Is this because we don't do something right, we do too much or we fail to do? Men will usually not blame themselves. They will look elsewhere and quietly blame God for not doing enough to lift them out of predicaments.

But men dare not and they fear God. They try to please God and say that they must endure the problems and that it is God's idea for them to have problems so that they can grow from good to better. Isn't that appeasing God out of fear? God has no need for this if he is God and is loving.

The good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 gave a few pointers. God and heavenly saints do not need us to suck up to them. But to please them at all cost out of fear of reprisal is the very thing which we should not do. God and saints harbor no anger.

We can never hurt God and saints for if they can be hurt and have egos, then they are no God and no saint. The good lord stresses that there should be no guilt in our relationship with God and saints. We can never hurt God and saints when we do wrong. We only wrong ourselves and others. Fear of God is ridiculous. Appeasing him is out of place. It makes God so power crazy.

Why must we not have guilt? Guilt stifles goodness and love which we must cultivate to be like God and be with God. Sucking up to God will only make us distant from the aspiration to have in us the likeness of God. We will distance ourselves from God and not God distancing from us.

Then we may ask why the problems of men are many and plentiful despite having God and saints. Isn't that lame? Isn't that blaming God. The whole truth is that the problems are there because men are not saints and far from being saints.

We have false views. We go for more and more in life. But what we can have in life is to help us and not to down us. They are the means but we end up regarding the means as the ends. We indulge in worldliness and end up feeling down when we cannot have more, or when they are there no more.

We feel down in the dumps and think that God is punishing us. Then we try to suck up to and please God to please and appease him saying that we accept what come our way as this is God's wish. Isn't that odd? Don't end up flattering God when we have problems and fear to blame God for the problems. We must know the root of problems.

The root of problems lies in us for not having peace come what may - the ups and downs and the trials and tribulations. The worldly needs are not the ultimate but only means to allow us to be comfortable enough to have bare physical comforts so as to have peace of spirit even in body of flesh and blood. We should not end up wanting and lusting more and more of the world and forgetting the need to seek peace of God and the saints.

Trying to please and appease God is the worst thing in life. It shows our ignorance of why we have problems and why God is not the problem but us. We should not fear God but if we are to fear anyone, we should fear ourselves.

We are the cause of our problems. For sure and for real, we should even have no fear and guilt even for self for fear will paralyze us. This will only stifle love for self and cultivation of inner peace.

Be like what is depicted in the image of Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨. Balance and be atop the ups and downs of life, never go for excesses or for none. Just keep the balance as depicted by his feet atop the elements in his image. Then we can have peace amid the yin and yang of life - the ups and the downs. Have no fear and guilt and be steadfast as depicted by his left hand in absolute determination. Hold on to the basic inner truth of God and goodness as depicted by his right hand holding on to the scepter.

Then we will have peace and have no fear of life. Wherefore is there the need to to fear and to please God out of fear. We would be such a let down to God if we need to do so. Sucking it up to God is not what God wants. It will only enslave us to fear and guilt and make a mockery of God. That will only demean God.

There is no need to please or appease God before he will love us. That implies an element of fear of rejection by God. He loves us all the same. He will pamper us and not the other way.

Even hell is no place of rejection but place of rehabilitation and correction so that all there will be better off and be in heaven in the end. There is no eternity of hell. That is more in line with God and what God stands for - love and goodness. There is no place of fear when we relate to God. God is love.

Lest you forget

Do not make the mistake of idolizing any man who tells you about the Word. He is in the same boat as you even if religion refers to him as a religious leader. Mere mention of a religious leader is as good as encouraging idolising of that man. Why must there be hierarchy in religion? Hierarchy is conventional but may end up as liability rather than a necessity or asset. There should be no caste or hierarchy system in religion. No one is to be considered above another in religion. A religious leader or follower is a servant to serve you and not a leader to be idolised. Do not put him on the pedestal and make a monster out of him.

MAY ALL BE WELL AND HAPPY

May all be well and happy. May they have peace. May our departed friends and kins be well, happy and have divine peace. The main writer wishes the best for all for those near and far. Our kins may be far when they had passed on to better lives but they are near though far. He remembers and wishes his parents Mr Siow Soo Koh and Mdm Tay Hung Siang, his uncles and aunties like Mr Tay Koon Huay, his cousins like Mr Tay Chong Sim and his friends like Mr Philip Png well and have abundance of life. May they be rich in spirit for without such ancestors, there will be no posterity - no us and no you and me. They have blessed us and we must blessed them in return forever and ever.
