The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

One in God and goodness but not in practices

No 979 of Living Life Series 1

What is appealing to people of one era or generation differs from another. What is basic courtesy or right in one culture is out of place and even odd and rude in another.

To Asians, when they respect God and saints, the burning and offering of incense and even money in a temple is basic courtesy. But this may be viewed as unnecessary, rude and bad. They think it is odd that it is necessary to give to God and saints when what is needed is for God and saints to give for men.

But to those steep in Asian culture, not to do so is bad manners as when we want something from someone, we bring door gifts when we visit them. This can be fruits or eatables as well as perhaps a bouquet of flowers. To go empty handed is considered crude and uncivilized.

But do God and saints need our gifts when it is us who want God and saints to give us more in life? Who is giving to who? Who needs to be given?

But every generation wants to be different and to outdo if they can. They will not do what their fathers and uncles do. That is not that they don't treasure their elders but that they just want their way.

People will want their way in religion even if there is the same belief and basics. So how can there be one way and one religion? Yes the basics and belief may be simple and same. But as the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 says, all religions are one in God and the basic Word of goodness.

All are one in God and goodness but not in practices. There will of course be many religions and sects but all are one in God and goodness. The existing religions are there for us. We need to be good in whatever religion we are in. This the good lord says.
