The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Doing small things that make the difference

No 447 of Living Life Series 1

We cannot do great things for the Mission of Heaven to save souls but we can do small things that make the difference to mission. We have finite life and abilities.

Whilst cooperation is the key to mission, men end up manipulating other men. But that is no loss if men can learn from the lessons of life. But have we or can we learn?

If we can, we are assets to mission and self. If we cannot, life must still go on. Mission goes on. It is the mission of Heaven.

Nothing matters more to Heaven than our learning to stand more on our own feet than to depend on Heaven. Whilst the door to Heaven can stay open for us, we have to walk through the door ourselves. We can get waylaid and diverted by the many issues of life  (the yin and yang) and if we fail to see the door that Heaven opens for us.

Mastery or to put it simply, the balancing of yin and yang remains our immediate necessity.

We can keep focus on Tao and this requires effort. Though we can enter the door to Heaven, even in this life, unless we are steady, we can walk out again and be lost as well.

The path of Tao can be trying and tiresome to the traveler. That is why we have saints like Amitabha to offer the Pure Land and Lao Tse of the sages of old.

Lao Tse the traveler  who explained Tao

Having cognizance of all these, it is sheer odd for men to squabble over the nitty gritty. When it rains, it is like Heaven taking pity on men for lacking in worthwhile perspective of life.

The least we can do is to do the small things and these can add up. With grace of Heaven, we may still make it so long as we attempt to do our part.

Do make do and be at peace with life especially its imperfections. We too are not perfect as of now. What more can we expect of mortals like us. There will always be the frustrations in yin yang world but do not let these get the better of us.

Yin and yang always in passionate embrace
and going round and round in life

Life of yin and yang goes round and round. We must get the better of them and have the peace if we do not want to end up in pieces and shreds.

Just do what we can and somehow even if we do not readily make the grade and be saints, we can still be with the saints of Heaven. We can be in Heaven even in this life.

We can go through the door to Heaven but remember we may slip out again unless we stay vigilant and atop the yin and yang by doing ever more the small things that make the difference.

In our memoirs of life, at least we could write down the small things we had done for ourselves and for the mission of Heaven to save souls.

That the mission is that of Heaven and not of Man is a sheer relief because we may not be able to save ourselves adequately and comfortably. How can we do more and be that noble in mission?

At the same time, we cannot be that ignoble as to do nothing. Just do the small things, be it in life or in mission and they do add up. They do make the difference.

Omitofo always and ever more
