The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Go along with all religions and not just one

No 646 of Living Life Series 1

It is a good sign that many in the East are accepting another religion other than the religion of birth. The same applies to many in the West. Men must change if staying on in old religious ways and beliefs is contrary to science and rationality.

Initially, the men just believe and are oblivious to new realities of science and knowledge. Somehow, men need to know better and must change if change means they can be better and not blocked or obstructed from more spirituality.

Religion must not fear scrutiny by science and logic. There need to be wakening from closed mind to open mind. Change must lead the way.

If it is out of place, unacceptable, outmoded and not rational to use jos sticks and papers, and yet not right at all to over rule such practices, leave the practice and if needed take up a new religion or sect. But allow and respect others who want to have such practices and are at peace with them. This does not preclude changes to practices or religion.

Change is inevitable and to understand this, we must refer to what Lord Bo Tien said in 1969 and the years that followed. The good lord said that he wants all to know that the basic truth is the same in all the various religions. This is the truth of God (玉皇上帝) and how to be at peace with life spiritually and otherwise. But the presented religions and sects may differ. That is certainly not a problem

The problem is not knowing the truth. Men may not see the basic truth in the religion of birth but may be able to do so through another adopted religion. Then change is good, isn't it?

So long as men can see that basic or inner truth, it is immaterial if men drop the religion they are born into. After all, religion is also a personal choice and change may be good for persons concerned, and the religions they were in and the new religions they enter into. Change can stimulate query and interests by all parties and in all parties. This will lead to more knowledge and understanding in all.

The mission of the good lord is to increase awareness of the inner or basic truth and that way, people will see the oneness of religions rather than the divisiveness of religions. Then, it is only natural that there will be those who belong to all religions and readers can count the writer as one of them.

All religions - one spirit

Go along with all and not just one. Even if many go along with one, why not they also go along with all. That will be great, isn't it?

After all, heavenly saints in the 25 or so heavens above get along with one another and work as one though humans may not and idolise their preferred saint over the rest. When humans are more like God and saints, then they will idolise less of a preferred saint and be better off spiritually.

The good lord Lord Bo Tien too did say that the truth is in him (the good lord) and he is the truth, didn't he? Those who idolise him and know not the truth are far though near to him. It is better to know the truth which is what he represents than to idolise him.

武天菩萨
Lord Bo Tien

Idolatry is not about having idols but hero-worshiping a saint or master. People idolise saints and men. That is idolatry. This may not be good in the long run. It is better to know and live in truth of God and how to seek inner peace. It is best to know the big picture and move on.

Do go along with all religions and not just with one. We understand life and truth better by gaining insight into others perspectives. Some may of course feel awkward to do so (go along with other religions) but they are not alone. There are some people at the temples in the name of the good lord Lord Bo Tien who are like that.

They regard the central message of the Four Pillar Doctrine that all religions are one in God and inner truth as odd, controversial and awkward, perhaps even somewhat awful and not at all awesome. They leave the Four Pillar Doctrine on the wall to be forgotten and to be relegated to the museum or archives. Give them time and they will learn and be in the mainstream.
