The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Staircase to Heaven

No 461 of Living Life Series 1

Divine Light at the top

Men always wait till it is sunset before they think of preparing for sunrise. They will live on credit for the day and don't care if they end up having debts to pay over many tomorrows. This is the weakness of men which is there for all discerning ones to learn.

Lord Bo Tien said that we must learn from the lives of men, their strengths and weaknesses. Habits formed over the major part of life cannot be changed outright at the sunset of life though it is far better than not having a start. It is better late than never. Late starters need not brood if they have faith in God and saints above.

For the wise few, say at the mission of Lord Bo Tien, they started early but often not early enough. Like many somehow they were like insects and ants coming to the flower for nectar. The lord saint like all heavenly saints know that the minds and flesh of men are weak and men at any of his temples will be no different.

Their mistakes and whatever good they could do are good enough learning points for the many out there and in the future to learn. These serve like steps of staircase for men to walk on to go to Heaven.

For those who brood that they started too late at the sunset of life, there is also an alternative staircase to Heaven. Heaven will be pleased for those who are mindful even though perhaps a wee bit too late.

Saints like Amitabha welcome them to Heaven in their special respective pure lands in Heaven so as to let them learn and cultivate, but often they may have to return to earth to practise what they have learnt.

Practise what we can now so that our sojourn in Heaven is less finite and we need not return to Earth as men. The more we cultivate, the longer our stay in Heaven.

Heaven is for all. This is the promise of God but how we make it is up to us. How long we can be there is our own making. Do make hay while the Sun shines.

Though we may be in Heaven in afterlife, what is more important is that we have a bit or more of Heaven here and now. We can do so by knowing Tao or The Way.

Tao is in the image of Lord Bo Tien. We must have peace by balancing the yin and yang of life as depicted by the lord's feet on the elements.

There are of course those who are in Heaven indefinitely but may have to come down as men. Buddha Gautama is one of them. Few are as blessed and as achieved to do so. Who knows in time, we can be one of them?

There are also those who had to be born again and again as men or worse still even in Hell because they dig their own graves. It is not rare but sometimes that they create their own Hell on Earth even way before the afterlife. Instead of climbing the staircase to Heaven, they end up walking down the staircase to Hell.

In the mission of Lord Bo Tien to save souls to be in Heaven, the mission cannot be to do and die and not to ask the reason why. If it is to do and die and not to ask the reason why, then it is the mission of men and not even the mission of the devil, for men can be worse than the devil.

In the mission of the lord, we will do but not die. We will live more so if we ask the reason why. Ask and it shall be given. Seek and ye shall find.

Life is ticking bye and for many, there is little time left to spare. Cultivate the Way and purify the mind. Speak no evil. Do no evil. Better still it is for us to think no evil. Evil means greed, hatred and false views.

That would be the starter for the Way but more if we want the peace of Tao. Ask heavenly saints like Lord Bo Tien. Follow their guidance and the staircase to Heaven will unfold before us.

Go on to brightness
not just in afterlife
but in this present life

If there is brightness
we are in Heaven
How long we can stay
in brightness
 depends on us.
Are we comfortable
with brightness
or we still prefer darkness.
All depends on Tao
the cultivation of Tao.
Omitofo.
Do let Omitofo
reside in our hearts
Heaven will then be in us
and we in Heaven
That is surely one
of many ways
to learn Tao
