The celebration or big day of God or any saint serves a good purpose to bring men to a religion or temple.
But do not be mistaken that without doing so, men will not be blessed or this is the only way to gain favor to have a place in heaven? In fact, Bo Tien 武天 says that he is around with men 365 days a year and why only on the big day on 13th day of ninth lunar month will men celebrate his presence.
This is true in any temple or religion. Why give offerings in form of incense papers, food, money, love offerings or tithes to God or saint when it is men who want blessings from God or saint.
Are men to bless God or saint instead of God or saint blessing men? Worse still, are men trying to bribe God or saint to give them blessings? Wouldn't that be odd and not logical?
Alas, traditions appear not logical now but were logical or the practice in the past. Some would say that if men pay taxes to the land either in cash or kind, men too must pay taxes in cash or kind to God or saints. But if God or saints are like rulers of the land, then they are no God or saints.
Love offering to God or saint is like voluntary donations to welfare bodies. If God or saints are in need of welfare donations, well, isn't this odd.
In some countries, people still pay protection money to as many gang leaders to stop being harassed by gangs. But do we pay protection money to God or saints?
God and saints do not need offerings in cash or kind nor do we need to celebrate their presence with us. Often the celebration goes awry when men uses the celebration as excuse to make merry and even forget God or saint. In fact, some make wealthy men or men of influence as the visible patrons of the occasion when God or saint is the intended patron.
What God and saints want is for men not to fawn on them but to know and practise what they God and saints expect of men. This is the doctrine or truth in life common to and behind all religions.
There is need to be like God and saints by being good and pure so as to have inner peace come what may. Many refer to this inner peace as the God in men. Have the God in us.
This then is worthy reason to celebrate not just once a year but 365 days a year.
It is awesome if all can focus on the lesson that is in life. That way all will grow. Only we can change our life. No one can do it for us. God, saints and religions are there to help us. There is oneness of purpose or mission to do so.
But men may not serve this oneness and cause apprehension. We have to learn from the shortfalls of some men, so as to rise and grow to be better than what we are.
This is the mission of Bo Tien 武天. All in whatever religion or culture will grow and be better in what they are in their respective religion or culture.
