No 1546 of Living Life Series 1
Times have changed and even during the days of historical figures of religion, it was not to follow but to question and ask why men could not do better. The historical figures had worthy and justifiable doubts and questioned the existing practices and beliefs then. This gave birth to the religions we have.
So we too need to have doubts and ask why and improve what our forebears passed down to us. Doubts are not wrong to have as doubts mean we need to know more. This Bo Tien 武天 did say.
We need to make practices and traditions better and more relevant.
We need to think clearly, be logical and not to rationalise so that we can be peaceful to all - fellow believers and non believers alike.
Then we are together as one with others though of different religions and cultures.
We do not rationalise that one culture or religion is better or more exclusive. Rationalisation is not logical. It is to insist that what one's belief is never wrong and as such any other beliefs that are different will be wrong.
We have to be logical to realise the oneness in goodness intention of all religions and cultures. Why must logic be taboo and a no-no and even considered the way of the devil in man? Does it mean we have to be illogical to be religious?
This oneness of religions and cultures despite the differences is what Bo Tien 武天 refers to as the inner truth of goodness and peace behind the diversity of religions and cultures. Only by being logical and by meditating on life will all be able to see the inner truth common to and behind all religions.
