No 1543 of Living Life Series 1
Think not how our religion is better than others. The moment we do so, we have not understood our religion.
Think not how our religion is not as good as another religion. The moment we do so, we too have not understood our religion let alone understand other religions.
We are like that because we tend to scratch the surface of religions and know only the superficialities. We fail to go deeper and that is the problem. We tend to be contented with this and with what others tell us. This is good in a way for many. Many will agree with this.
But the concern is that we can get carried away. We can run the risk of becoming impressionistic and easily jump to conclusions. We do not go in depth enough to the common core or basic teachings of religions what is referred to as the inner truth of goodness, purity and inner peace by Bo Tien 武天.
If we do not understand the religion we are born into, we will not be able to understand other religions. If we do not know ourselves, how can we know others? If we think too well of ourselves, that we are skies above others, then we will likely think poorly of others.
He who knows himself both the good and dark sides of himself too will naturally want to know the two sides of others. He will not think poorly of himself or others. He is not given to having impressions.
He will learn how to be better than what he is both by minimising his dark side and learning from the two sides of other men. He has learnt about the yin and yang that Bo Tien 武天 has mentioned in his latter anniversary messages during the initial decade following his descent in 1969.
Learn from the imperfections in life and in religions and be better off than what we are and can be. This Bo Tien 武天 did impart to mankind through us. The intention is not to change others to join us but to help others the way we help ourselves to be better than what they are and in the religions they are already in.
Such wisdom Bo Tien has shared with us so that we can share with other men. Learn from the two sides in life, in individuals, in ourselves, and in any religion of men.
Do not think the world of ourselves or of others. Be humble and down to Earth realistic and never given to deprecating ourselves or others.
Love and be kind to ourselves and others for what we or they are but try to learn to be better than that. We must never belittle others or even ourselves. Love and be kind to ourselves and to all. This is the in depth insight of loving kindness Bo Tien 武天 mentioned in 1975.
If we do not grasp the core of the inner truth of goodness, purity and inner peace common to and in all religions that Bo Tien 武天 wanted us to know, it would not be surprising that there would be the thinking and gossip by some that Bo Tien 武天 does not exist and his teachings are personal views of some men.
