All religions are good and serving the people but what happens if there are people who believe in parts of many religions. Where do they stand in the eyes of men, God and saints?
The problem lies not in God and saints. It does not lie with men as well though some bigoted men of religion just cannot accept that and want men to make a choice of either going for all in a religion or none.
Like it or not, religions must accept that there are many men who may decide what they specifically want to believe in God and saints without being controlled or bound up by rules and dogmas created by men of religions.
These men are not atheists because they may believe in God. They are not free thinkers but many would not even say they are free thinkers because others may be prejudiced against them.
Others may think they are lost to God and saints. They become singled out to be the subjects for special attention. Thus many take cover under the label of a religion.
They do take cover as labelled followers of religions but beyond that, they stay away from the churches or temples of men but remain true to God and saints.
They are like the historical Ji Gong the Living Saint, who did not belong to any temple, having been disrobed and asked to leave the monastery in his lifetime as man in old China.
Ji Gong was then non-conformist and broke every rule of the monastery. He was supposed to be a monk but was considered unfit to be one and was asked to leave the monastery.
He ate meat, drank wine and appeared uncouth and unpolished in behavior though a monk. But he believed that "what matters is the doctrine and the doctrine must be practiced from the heart." What one does or what goes through the gut are outward shows but what matters is what is in the heart.
Men must be true to doctrine and practise it from the heart. There is no need for labels of being a follower of a religion though good to have but not must have.
Many men must examine whether they are putting up a show and seeking the approval of men when they religiously adhere to a religion or sect. They need to reexamine if they are true to Heaven and the universal doctrine of Heaven behind all religions and faiths. They need to be awaken and be reborn in doctrine and decide how to be living torch light of spirituality for others to follow.
Men can stick to religions but must be able to live in doctrine. If they have not been doing so, it is high time they do so and be reborn in doctrine.
Then they will realise that to be with God and saints, institutional religions are just pillars which highlight the markers of the house or temple of God. As said by Lord Bo Tien, the whole world or universe is the universal temple. This become the Inner Truth or Four Pillar Doctrine.
In the Four Pillar Doctrine, religions are the pillars in the four cardinal directions. The doctrine or inner truth is that there are God and saints. Heaven is the roof of the temple. People under Heaven are all in the same universal temple. They must cultivate themselves so as to be worthy of being with God and saints not only for afterlife but in this very life on earth.
The Way or Tao is to learn from the trials and tribulations of life, the ups and downs in life so that we can be at peace. We cannot run away from the ups and downs of life and that is for sure. We can only find peace by being atop and balancing the ups and downs which sages of old in China refer to as the yin and yang.
Only when we are with life and not running away from life or being overwhelmed by life that we are at peace. Then though far from institutional religions and temples of men, we are near God and saints. The far may be near and the near far. This the lord saint Lord Bo Tien did say.
Thus it is time we seriously consider how we and our fellow men can be reborn in doctrine common to and basic to all religions and practised even by those without religions but are nevertheless near to God and saints.
The principles or values of being atop and balancing the ups and downs, the yin and yang is the tou-li - doctrine. The practice of this is called Tao by the sages of old in China. Do be reborn in Doctrine of God and saints and not live in doctrine of men. Cheers. Omitofo
