No 1534 of Living Life Series 1
A house is only in order if there is respect for parents.
A country is only in order if there is respect for the leaders past and present.
A temple is only in order if there is respect for elders.
Respect does not mean agree but to go along so that the house remains a house, the country is running like a country and a temple like a temple.
This is in the precepts that Bo Tien 武天 tells us.
They are universal precepts.
Respect for elders and parents must always be abided even if the elders are no longer holding the rein of managing a home, a nation or a temple.
Elders are the reason why there is a family, a temple or a nation. Without elders, no family, temple or nation.
All religions and families must respect the eldership role of the nation they are in for the country to be in order. Without the nation as the elder for religions, families and communities, how can there be order across the country?
