The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Better off by having a little, more so the basics

No 1205 of Living Life Series 1

There is more to it than meet the eye. There is more to religion than what men wants us to know.

Even the Buddha says that whatever he had taught was like the leaves in his hand and what he had not taught was like the leaves in the forest.

But what matters is that we know the little. They are the basics which if grasped and practised lead to more knowledge and awareness. This we must understand whatever religion we profess.

Go not for the history, the academics and the controversies. Go for the gist and that little means allot.

The little we know if well practiced may mean more than the more we know but be lost in the jungle of information. To add to the woes, many add on to the teachings of a saint and cause more confusion.

Information glut can be eye catching but there is more than what is presented. Often if we are more discerning and go for the basics we are better off.

Less is more and more is less. We may think that the more we know the nearer we are to God and saints.

But the reality is that we may be far off. The little we know, more so if this is the basic, is better.

Others may think we know too little and are far from God and saints. But reality is that that little if well practised makes us more at peace, more godly and near to God.

Thus the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 says that the near may be far and the far near. Perhaps more is less and less is more.
This the good lord says will apply too to the secular or mundane world. The one who is poor but happy with what he has and is contented is richer in life and in inner peace than the one who is rich but unhappy and far from contented.

Never be too sure and proud. Never think we have arrived and others have not just because we know more and are in the frontline of popular religion.

Be humble. Be simple. Be at peace. Be humble, simple and have clarity of life. Common sense is what we need. Don't clamor for more if a little will do. Go for the essentials. Have simple needs and don't clutter your life and make a mess of it.

Likewise in religion, don't go for the clutter but be focused on the little. The basic little will do. This the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 refers to as the inner truth that is in life and behind all religions.
