There is the Way or Tao 道. Tao 道 is before everything we know. To some it is a force or energy. To others it is common sense or logical thinking. Definitely whatever you understand by Tao 道, Tao 道 exists before all that were, are and will be.
It is important to take the simple approach so that more can appreciate, never mind if this is not the ultimate and complete Tao 道.

That is why there are different religions to bring people to goodness and to God. But like it or not people go for the par and not the whole - the leaves and not the tree. Though the leaves are part of the tree, they are not the tree proper.

The dominance of culture in any society is such that Christmas has become part of Chinese culture without changing the character of Chinese culture. The Christmas tree is now part of being Chinese.

Chinese of religions without incense sticks will still carry incense sticks if they need to do so. They will sing hymns if they are in a church. They will do what is expected of them in any house of God and saints.
They will bring fruits to places of worship sometimes even wine for a function there. This is in their culture. Need more be said.

In conclusion, let us be wholesome and complete. Go for the whole and not the parts. We are in globalized world. We must respect all religions and believe in all in whatever way we can.
Perhaps culture can enable the belief in all religions and promote the oneness of religions. Culture can bring together people of all religions. Culture too can promote oneness in diversity, be it of religions or whatever.
One day too the global culture will integrate all cultures. That will take time but no matter what individual subculture may still remain.
