The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

The solution to payback time in the journey of life

No 1491 of Living Life Series 1

When young adults, many who are now old and elderly told their children that children must not talk when adults talk. Children were to be seen but not heard. This was so that they could not interrupt the adults who have to work and have many activities after work.

When the adult parents become old, the children who have become young adults are too busy multitasking and they will find their elderly parents irritating and wasting their precious time. They will expect the elderly parents not to talk but just listen to what they have to say.

They will say that the elderly parents are not to talk to them, to listen when they the adult children are talking. They will loudly insist that they only want to be heard and not asking for the opinions of the elderly parents. They will tell their elderly parents to just listen and not talk back, to agree and not to give opinions. It will be rude to do so.

Elderly parents must keep silence, not talk when the adult children talk. It will be ill mannered and incorrect to talk or give opinions when the adult children are adults. The oldies should just listen and not talk back.

They do not ask for their views but the oldies should be thankful that the adult off springs could even spend some precious moments to tell them what are in their minds or what they do in the day. It seems that they are screaming that the oldies should wise up and not talk back but just listen, learn and appreciate.

Ins't this payback time of sorts or perhaps role reversal? Elderly parents do reap what they sowed decades ago.

The adult children feel that they were brought up with wrong values and find the religious ways of the elderly parents irritating even if both parents and grown up children are of the same religion or church.

In a religious institution like a temple or church, the same that happens in family too happens and this comes as no surprise.

Previously the pioneers who were young adults decades ago would call the tune and the younger ones would just have to listen and do, and not to question why - not even giving opinions which would fall on death ears and be scorned.

This bred ill-feelings. When these young ones come come of age, they take over the temple or church or desert the temple or church to start bigger temples or churches.

They could even upstage what was done to them when they were young. They as adults end up sacking or eliminating the pioneers who had become elderly and not seeming to be in touch with the trend they prefer to have.

This is due to human nature. This is due to the thinking a person often has that he is right and others wrong even when he is not really right. This is the truth in life and this is due to the ego or 'I thoughts.'

There would be no end of problems and issues. This is what Bo Tien 武天 wants all to know that many families, religions and societies face the same outcome.

Bo Tien 武天 says that there is learning from life. There is the truth in life regardless of religion, culture or society. There is need to forgo the 'I thoughts' that a person himself is always right and others wrong.

If any individual could do that, that person will have inner peace, and smile at the problem causing attitude of the ego in many a man. It is never too late to realise this even when it is payback time. Better late than never.
