The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

To be at peace with both heaven and hell

No 1020 of Living Life Series 1

The good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 says that for men, when the sun shines, most will have to work and when the sun sets, men must rest.

Some work by night and rest by day. Yes, there is the need to rest and the need to work. Even monks must have work and rest.

We need sunset to appreciate and value sunshine. We need sunshine to appreciate and value sunset and night.

The human world is where we have both sunshine and sunset in every aspect of life. Without darkness, how can we know what is light and without light, we won't know what is darkness.

We cannot envision life with one without the other. We must have both. Heaven would be like hell if there is no hell. Hell would be not hell if there is no heaven.

Human life is whole when there is both. But yet many think of going to heaven. Surely heaven will be not heavenly if it is only light and no darkness. Those not ready for heaven will find no peace and satisfaction with heaven. They will be disappointed.

Hell too is not that bad if some can find peace in hell even while in hell. That would be heavenly in a way and an inspiration not only to those in hell but also many in heaven.
Perhaps it is even better to be where heaven and hell meet. Human beings live where heaven meets hell. Twilight and dawn are when light and darkness meet and they can be wonderful moments to behold.

What is important is not to have more of heaven and less of hell but to be comfortable and at peace with both. The sages of old refer to this as yin and yang.

We must be atop both and balance both so as to have peace come heaven or come hell. This is as depicted by the image of the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨with feet atop and balancing both heaven and hell.
Insight meditation is best practiced as a group during sunrise or sunset when light and darkness meet when there is balance of day and night - sunlight and moonlight. This is best done at hill slope or at the seaside.

This has long been the practice during the 49 days purity observance before Mission Day of Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 on 13th day of the ninth lunar month. This is not unique to just a temple of the good lord and are part of practice of all religions and temples.
