The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

How men view God depends on spirituality of men

No 721 of Living Life Series 1

God and saints above have no wish that beings must die and suffer when alive. But if men have to die, is this the wish of God? Certainly, this cannot be. Then why blame God?

Men have fear of God and dare not even think of blaming God. But is it the wish of God for men to fear him? Why must men think that the only way to please God is to fear him? If he is God, then does he require others to fear him so that he feels he is more God?

There are many attributes of men that men tend to think that God will have. Even most men of position and who are rulers of nations do not want to put those they rule over to be in fear of them. What benefit and pleasure can God derive by having men living in fear of him?

Then there is the misconceived thinking that men can be saved just by believing and pleasing God, that doing good is not good enough and that only when God so pleases, can men be saved by his grace and not by goodness in deeds, thoughts and speech - not by even the purity of hearts and mind that is enlightenment.

Men also has another strange preoccupation with God concept. Men cannot help thinking that they have to die because they have displeased God. But does God want us to die or need us to die so that we know he is God? Rather, will God feel more that he is God if all of us have to live just to die one day?

Because of the shallow nature of human thinking, men think that God can make us live forever and not die. To reconcile to the reality that men must still die and God is still God after all, men fantasize that living forever can only be in the life hereafter and not in the present life.

These are the strange ways and thinking of men with regards to God but have become standard thinking for some men. Well men are men and this is the problem.

Instead of appreciating God and saints, men may end up putting God and saints down by seeing the weaknesses of men in God and saints. That is why the good lord Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨) says that God is God and man is man. See not the man in God and saints. That way we do not belittle them and their good works and love for all beings - mind you, not just men.
Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨)
Is God man or is man God - playing God? Let us see not the man in God. Man is man and God is God. God in the minds of men very much depend on the spirituality of men. Men have come a long way from the days of the cave dwellers when they perceived lightning and thunder as manifestations of God.

"As on Earth so also in Heaven" is an age old axiom in China. If the ruler of the land is expected to be no longer autocratic, then it follows that men should no longer view God as autocratic but democratic, liberal and understanding.

Only in autocratic regime or system will there be need for organised cheers to whip up positive feelings for the leader. God is no autocrat. God is benevolent and loving.

How men view God depends on the spirituality of men. Certainly, this will ever more be the case.
