THE PURPOSE IS TO SAVE SOULS. IT IS WAY BEYOND NORMAL GOOD WORK LIKE CHARITY AND WELFARE ACTIVITIES. NO ONE SHALL BE SAVED BY GOOD WORKS ALONE BUT BY MORE THAN GOOD WORK. THERE IS NEED TO BE IMBUED WITH THE BASIC DOCTRINE COMMON TO AND BEHIND ALL RELIGIONS AND SECTS. LIVE IN DOCTRINE. DOCTRINE IN LIFE IS PARAMOUNT.

The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Be wary of wolves in sheep's clothings

No 633 of Living Life Series 1

Many are somehow dumb and thick in the head to think that they can manipulate situations to their advantage thinking that they can fool others. They have confidence that these others end up very much beholden and grateful to them all because they have charisma and have their ways and can charm the crowd.

In one short phrase, they are able to move people and that way can make fortune at others expense. It is others' misfortune when they make fortune out of them. People come to them because they have problems but they end up fleecing them and yet get away not only scotch free but also treated and idolized like benefactors and gods of men. Actually, these wolves in sheep's clothing are the beneficiaries not benefactors or angels. They are the antithesis of angels - devils of sorts.

They can even do all these in the house of God 玉皇上帝 and enrich themselves. Do go to a church or temple or be involved in secular bodies of the day but do not hero worship men at the helm otherwise there will always be the risk of making demons out of them and they the inevitable victims of these wolves in sheep's clothing. They may be bold but really it is the potential victims who have embolden them. So who is at fault, the doer or the victims?

We have seen many good leaders in organisations during their humble beginnings but when the organisations grew, the leaders too grew to be too big for their shoes. They become exalted and temptations set in. As said in the Bible, the exalted will be humbled and the humble and meek will be exalted. Need more be said that it is the humble who will stay the course and make it.

The leader of men may be near and dear but if idolized and put on the high pedestal, that leader who is held near and awesome may end up far and awful to the men. This is as what the good lord, Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 said that far may be near and near far.

It may not be just the fault and weakness of that wayward leader but the fault and weakness of the men who idolise him from head to toe. He becomes like God to men and take over the place of God in the very house of God. He is oblivious to God's presence even as he preached on the love and greatness of God. All he is interested in is to sell his ideas and make capital out of men in need.

The leader of men may be near to God 玉皇上帝 and lord but may in truth be far from God and lord. He may even be the leader in a house of God. Blame not the lord for he and many like him are like insects coming to the flower for nectar. This too did Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 say.

Certain noble professions may attract men for the wrong motive. These may include the politicians and the medical doctors. They are supposed to serve and in case of doctors the patients gain is their gain. But there is always that risk that doctors may make fortune out of others' misfortune.

That if they are good and truly answer the calling of their profession, they will be blessed is in no doubt but what if they fall to temptations and go solely for their own gain. God have mercy on the wayward who are few in number. They do know what they do and yet do it, don't they? God knows even if we don't. Heaven have eyes, they say....didn't they?

Be wary of wolves in sheep's clothing. They may not be aware they are wolves and think they are sheep and God is still their shepherd. God will ever be their shepherd but whether they stay with God or go astray is their free will.

Lest you forget

Do not make the mistake of idolizing any man who tells you about the Word. He is in the same boat as you even if religion refers to him as a religious leader. Mere mention of a religious leader is as good as encouraging idolising of that man. Why must there be hierarchy in religion? Hierarchy is conventional but may end up as liability rather than a necessity or asset. There should be no caste or hierarchy system in religion. No one is to be considered above another in religion. A religious leader or follower is a servant to serve you and not a leader to be idolised. Do not put him on the pedestal and make a monster out of him.

MAY ALL BE WELL AND HAPPY

May all be well and happy. May they have peace. May our departed friends and kins be well, happy and have divine peace. The main writer wishes the best for all for those near and far. Our kins may be far when they had passed on to better lives but they are near though far. He remembers and wishes his parents Mr Siow Soo Koh and Mdm Tay Hung Siang, his uncles and aunties like Mr Tay Koon Huay, his cousins like Mr Tay Chong Sim and his friends like Mr Philip Png well and have abundance of life. May they be rich in spirit for without such ancestors, there will be no posterity - no us and no you and me. They have blessed us and we must blessed them in return forever and ever.
