The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Getting to know God's plan for our daily life

No 625 of Living Life Series 1

Let us live out God's plan for us in our daily life. Surely it is not for us to worship him for he does not need our worship least of of all fear for him. He is our friend and would we need to worship or fear our friend. Surely not.

It is when we are terrified of him that we live in mortal fear but if there is relationship like that of a friend, we are on friendly terms. That is a sheer demonstration of the humility and love of God.

God is humble. He never claim to create the universe and every bit of it. He never claim all that live are created by him. God did not but men say he did. Then with the numerous imperfections we see around us, we malign him as imperfect. Some even think there is no God.

He is the ruler of the three worlds of Men, Hell and Heaven. Just like the ruler of a country on Earth, he is a creator of sorts. He creates conditions where the good can get rewards and he will help the lesser good to be better. He did not condemn them to eternal damnation. Men may think so but this is due to the ignorance of men.

There is no eternal hell or misery. Men can resurrect themselves from hell and from misery. This is in accordance with the nature of life anywhere in the three worlds.

As he is a good ruler assisted by the heavenly saints, he rules with fairness and with heart. There is good governance but how men think and how beings fare spiritually must depend on spirituality.

Like on Earth where there are the secular government of the land as well as the clergy (monks, priests and pastors) of religions, so also in Heaven which oversees the three worlds, there is God and the heavenly governing council of God and heavenly saints and there is also the divine spiritual body of the various Buddhas and Bodhisattvas like Jesus, Goddess Kuanyin, Amitabha and the lot.

It is necessary that every man and being in the three worlds must live in accordance with God's plan - more importantly in daily life. If we cannot meet this plan for our daily life, how are we to look long term?

The plan God has for us is simple. Do not be idle and waste away the day. Do not indulge and go beyond our means and stamina for the day. To each his own is true in some way.

We must live life in balance avoiding the two polarities which sages refer to as yin and yang - passivity and activity. We must have time to reflect and to be mindful of how to be at peace in daily life. We must have time to treasure life and nature - to watch the birds and admire the roses and the sunshine and the rain.

Certainly we cannot be at peace doing nothing and wasting away the time. Certainly we cannot live as though there is no tomorrow. That will be overindulgence and counter-productive. There will be no peace.

Go for what we can have for the day - for what is necessary so that we can better handle tomorrow and the tomorrow of tomorrow. That means we must have a plan for the day and not tire ourselves and end up with nothing or too much for tomorrow.

That means we must have some daily routine. Even monks in a temple and even the saints and bodhisatvas above have routines. They do not do nothing and they do not do too much and that is the way to peace for now. That too is what we need to do. This is God's plan for our daily life regardless of religion, sect or none.

There is no need to change religion or to be in religion. If already in a religion, this plan if effected will make one better in one's religion. This is stressed by Lord Bo Tien. He adds that it is good to have the shelter of saints as our life like candle flame if sheltered will glow and shine better.

Balance activity with inactivity to move on in life and be at peace. This is reflected in the image of Lord Bo Tien with feet atop the yin and yang. We must not run but be seated and rested while moving on in life. We must be at peace in life.

Lord Bo Tien says that
the image is the doctrine and
the doctrine is the image
