The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

A celebration of life in Wesak with Ehi passiko - Come and see

No 881 of Living Life Series 1

In life, it is necessary to have an inquiring mind and it is exactly because the honored one did not just follow the norm but go beyond that he became enlightened beyond the standards and teachings in his day, that the world is richer by his teachings on how to go beyond mere acceptance and faith.

He was born on 624 BC and that is pretty ancient and for that era, it was pretty upsetting not to conform. But he was humble, gentle and respectful to all. He was likable and that won him the respect of many.

By having an inquiring mind, he adds to the understanding of the correct spiritual path and the answer to life ills and the round of rebirths that all beings are subjected to.

He welcomes all to the call of Ehi passiko - Come and see. Thus life is about how to know more and find out more and to see the truths taught by the sages for ourselves and fathom the rationality behind.
Let us celebrate life with the free spirit of Ehi passiko - come and see. Well, what better day to do so than Wesak Day which commemorates his birth, his enlightenment and his final ascent.
Of course, it goes without saying that we should celebrate life with zest and free spirit not just on Wesak Day but on any other day. His message and call is for all and not just his followers. It is not just for people of any religion but for those who do not subscribe to religion.
Come and see for yourselves what is said
Don't just accept
Investigate
You have to verify

But at the end of the day
Decide what you want to do in life
What you think you need to believe.

This in brief is the advice of the Buddhas and indeed all saints.

Only some men will tell you to believe and not to ask why. Saints want you to ask why and not to believe till you are convinced. They want you to see things for yourself and not to accept on mere hearsay. Test the teachings as gold was tested by fire at least in the ancient days or perhaps by any means in modern days. This the Buddha did say.

Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 adds that it is all right to have doubts. Doubts arise because people do not understand and when one day they do, that will be the day. They will gel even more with the rest and have more zest and faith to walk the way of God and saints.

Ehipassiko come and see you’ll know
The Teaching of Peace the Teaching of Love
The Teachings of the Buddha is for all
Who want to be free forever more

But don’t just believe Investigate
Do not simply accept what you hear or see
Not even if it is uttered by ME

So don’t just agree you’ve got to verify
When you know that it’s good
And it’s praised by the wise
Then live up to it the rest of your life

Let the free spirit of the enquirer fly high like the Wesak flag not just on Wesak but on all the days of our life. Wesak is the celebration of the free spirit. Without the free spirit, how can there be progress in life be it spiritual or otherwise. Without the free spirit and free will, we will be enslaved, in chains and in fear.

Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 says to all that what works for spiritual works well for the worldly matters of men. This applies to the need to ask and to be not afraid to ask and question. This free spirit must apply to religion and to mundane life. Have a meaningful Wesak. Fly the free spirit.
