THE PURPOSE IS TO SAVE SOULS. IT IS WAY BEYOND NORMAL GOOD WORK LIKE CHARITY AND WELFARE ACTIVITIES. NO ONE SHALL BE SAVED BY GOOD WORKS ALONE BUT BY MORE THAN GOOD WORK. THERE IS NEED TO BE IMBUED WITH THE BASIC DOCTRINE COMMON TO AND BEHIND ALL RELIGIONS AND SECTS. LIVE IN DOCTRINE. DOCTRINE IN LIFE IS PARAMOUNT.

The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Correct approach to Religion and to all Religions

No 707 of Living Life Series 1

The religion in the modern world of 2014 and beyond has a more difficult job if they want their adherents to be more right spiritually and to win more adherents.

This is due to globalization and what one says on God and saints are readily picked up and may be that more easily misunderstood and misconstrued by others who are not meant to be the recipients.

There is usually no ill-intentions whatsoever but human nature is such that there will end up some ill feelings somehow. Well this is being human and this is not helped by the ever more increasingly interconnected society we have.

That is why the early pioneers of the good lord Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨) were told that it is better for a person to remain a good Christian than an inadequate Buddhist, or to be a good Muslim and stay being Muslim.

The good lord also says that he was and is not here to start a new religion or sect or to favor any. He had out of necessity to be in a Chinese temple set-up when he came down in 1969 in Singapore.

He is not here to add to the many heavenly saints or sages that the world has. That is why he tells little of himself but more of the common or inner truth behind life and all religions so that men will be better at their respective religions.

People must be closer to and appreciative of the respective sages and saints of their own religions and cultures. They must not be uprooted from their culture and society they grow up in and know best.

They must also understand that though other religions are not the same as their own professed religion, they play useful roles in society to make men more God or Heaven worthy in their own special ways. They must learn to be more supportive of the efforts of other religions and rejoice in the good they do.

All these is so that there is more peace of spirit in all beings and among all beings, not just humans. Peace is the beginning of all that is good, it also colors the middle or the process for more good. Peace in the ultimate sense is also the reward and the end-all.

With regards to a religion, if it promotes peace, peace will return manifold more. Anyone who promotes peace gains more in peace from others as well.

Religion if managed on platform of peace is a blessing to all not only for the followers but for all. Religion if mismanaged may end up dividing men in name of religion and bring chaos rather than peace.

There is yet again the issue of fine balance of yin and yang - of the approach to one's religion and to that of others' religions. This must be based on the overriding and pervasive principle of peace of God in the highest and on earth peace among men as epitomized by the spirit of Christmas which is for men of all faiths - regardless of faith.

It is indeed as plain and simple as that and must men make it complicated and learn the hard way? Sow the seeds of goodwill among religions and among men and all will reap more goodwill and peace. God knows even if some who lost their heads don't. They are the poor souls and they need our help...

God is all about peace and plain honest to goodness goodwill. "Heaven is to be one with God." This Confucius says as well.

Lest you forget

Do not make the mistake of idolizing any man who tells you about the Word. He is in the same boat as you even if religion refers to him as a religious leader. Mere mention of a religious leader is as good as encouraging idolising of that man. Why must there be hierarchy in religion? Hierarchy is conventional but may end up as liability rather than a necessity or asset. There should be no caste or hierarchy system in religion. No one is to be considered above another in religion. A religious leader or follower is a servant to serve you and not a leader to be idolised. Do not put him on the pedestal and make a monster out of him.

MAY ALL BE WELL AND HAPPY

May all be well and happy. May they have peace. May our departed friends and kins be well, happy and have divine peace. The main writer wishes the best for all for those near and far. Our kins may be far when they had passed on to better lives but they are near though far. He remembers and wishes his parents Mr Siow Soo Koh and Mdm Tay Hung Siang, his uncles and aunties like Mr Tay Koon Huay, his cousins like Mr Tay Chong Sim and his friends like Mr Philip Png well and have abundance of life. May they be rich in spirit for without such ancestors, there will be no posterity - no us and no you and me. They have blessed us and we must blessed them in return forever and ever.
