The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Making it in life via God's way

No 425 of Living Life Series 1

Life is often an enigma and we often ask why is life like that. The answer is that no two are born equal and alike in circumstances. We are what we are and we cannot be what others are. We have our problems which no matter what will not be identical with those of others.

The sages of old would like us to believe that our present life is the continuation or rather the result of our past life. We inherit the good and bad outcome from the past. In the early half of life, our life seems to be more predictable as though we relive the events of past life in some way. What we can achieve and what we cannot seem to be based on some degree of certainty.

But thereafter, we have to modify on that in later half. It is then the time to learn the lessons of life which we have yet to learn in past life. If we understand this, then we will realise that it is fated that we have to learn.

If we can learn and succeed, then we can make it in life in God's way. If we grumble and lament why this and why that, then we have to resign to our fate so to speak. But if we can be reflective and see through life with insight that our problems are not problems but lessons in life for us to learn and for us to pick ourselves up, then we will be able to make good.

Making out in life in God's way is what everyone of us must do, isn't it? But this depends on our insight of life.

We need to have inclination of what we failed to learn in past life and what we are set out to learn in this life. The problems we have in life will provide us with learning. It is God's way or rather providence way to make us learn.

God has for each and everyone a life of our own. We have our own set of blessings and our own individualized woes. How we manage them and make life work for us is left for us.

If we make it, then good as we would have learnt from life and improved on our attributes that we have in past life. Even the skeptical would at time want to know, what has life in store for them and what is it in life that they have to do.

What is it that God wants us to learn and unlearn in this present life? We must cultivate the insight and act based on this insight. Then life will be more meaningful and rewarding even if we cannot have what others have. Do remember that we always have some things in life which others don't have.

The important thing is to know what God wants us to have and to learn in this life. Only then, do we have chance to make it out in life.

Invariably, the answer has to do with yin yang balance. The yin yang interplay and factors differ from one person to another and the specific intervention to achieve this balance differs from person to person.

For Lao Tse, he knew what he had to do. He had to leave the city life of China and his life as keeper of the emperor's archives and ride on the buffalo into the wilderness so as to be one with nature and have better yin yang balance so as to have peace in life as immortal Lao.

But we are not to be immortals as yet though yin yang balance is still the key to peace in our respective mortal life.

God is Tao and Tao is God. It is the same as saying God is the Word and the Word is God. Tao refers to God not just a person but also as a force  and energy that is part of everything. Tao is only thrown into disarray by human actions and reactions. Lao Tse exhorts man to find his balance of yin and yang in him and in the world he is in.

From the Tao Te Ching book attributed to Lao Tse as the first author, a popular concept is expounded. This is the concept of Yin and Yang which is the very essence of true balance in nature. Examples of Yin and Yang are gain and loss, good and evil,  honor and dishonor, fire and water, east and west, even and odd numbers as well as male and female.
