The Mission of Heaven with Lord Bo Tien as messenger is not the mission of man. It is by God and saints for all men and beings.
The lord saint said that the Mission needs only a handful of the right men and even one or two is enough. This is to ensure that the Mission will not end up a mission of man.
The issue is that most will understand only at initial levels of spiritual grasps and equate mission as the occasional devotion and welfare activities and do not go to the crux of the matter which is to save souls and enabling others to elevate themselves beyond life and death which even those in some lofty heavenly states have yet to achieve.
Doing good is not good enough but we need to go beyond and have the inner peace come what may be it good or bad. We need to be with yin and yang and yet have peace amidst the yin and yang, the ups and downs.
Mission needs only one or two and at most a handful. This did Lord Bo Tien say.
Lord Bo Tien |
Even Gautama Buddha on his enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree knew that few will understand the truth but on persuasion by Lord Sakra, he agreed to spread and disseminate the truth as at least a small number could understand and succeed. That would be good enough.
Ji Gong's life too is worth learning from. His life as a human was an enigma of sorts. He did what the contemporary priests and monks would never do. But he feared not of being misunderstood and practised from the heart and not from the gut. Many could not see how he could succeed but he did. Only a few amongst his huge following could understand how he succeeded.
Only this finite few could grasp and practise the truth at insightful level and save souls, not only their own souls but that of others as well. The great majority of men would just be content to receive his blessings and help in times of worldly difficulties but hopefully they would one day be like the few and save their souls and that of others.

After all, the great master Ji Gong knows that overcoming worldly difficulties that is the mundane issues of life will one day pave the way for supra-mundane enlightenment. But few amongst his many devotees are ready for that level. There are only one or two and at most a handful ready to save themselves, let alone play role in the Mission of Heaven which is ultimately to save all souls
