No 976 of Living Life Series 1
But ironically in religion, we too end up trying to be at least one up above others. This is exactly what we want to get away from by turning to religion. Why the irony?
But this is life. Whether in a house of God or outside, there is ever the need to be better than others but in the end, where do we stand?
We will be better than some but we too will be far behind others. Why is there the need to compete and to feel lousy in the end? Why not just do what we can but no harm using others to pace us to make us know where we stand in life, be it spiritual or mundane?
There must be no clinging. There must be no ego to drive us against the wall of life. There will always be the wall somehow due to fate and circumstances.
Well the stark truth is this. No two are born equal. No two have identical life and opportunities. Everyone has the same life but life is different and never really same.
Even for religion, how on Earth or in Heaven can one religion be good enough for all? Even for the same religion, that one religion appeals to followers in different ways and holds special meaning unique to the individual.
It makes no sense too to have only one religion. We must have many as there are more people than religions can ever cater for.
God and saints are not like men. They provide choice and free-will for the benefit and advantage of all and their diverse interests and needs.
But all are one in God and saints. This is the message the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 set out to convey when he descended in 1969. Let there be more and not just one. It would not be realistic otherwise.
There will be those who need more than one religion and what's wrong with that as long as this is good and create no harm. Let there be more and not just one religion for one and all. That is so and so be it.
Somehow, like appetite for food, some have appetite for more and some could only cope with one or two. A few just won't have any. That's their choice so long as they can make good in life.
In time, people will have appetite for more. For the present, they are referred to as free thinkers but in time they may be cherished as among the more religious ones. This need not be a joke but a serious issue to eschew. Time will tell and let us wait and see.
