No 1003 of Living Life Series 1
Is there a place for hatred in religion? There is of course nothing religious about hatred. It is far from holy - nothing holy about hatred?
But isn't the devil someone we can hate? Is hatred of the devil justifiable in religion? Well that depends on our perception of who and what is the devil.
No one is right all the time. There is always the wrong in us somehow. In this respect, there is the devil in us as well as the good in us. Do we hate ourselves for being the devil at times?

That would be not loving self. If we love life and love wanting to be better in life, we should accept ourselves for the imperfections in us. Rather than hating, we should love ourselves more for the wrong and want to right the wrong in us, not hate ourselves and punish ourselves.
We should not incapacitate our self or being. We should also not hate others for the devil in them - the wrong in them. That would not be caring and far from good intention of religion to make them better people.

That would be counter to love of life not only of others but also our own. There is nothing holy about hatred. Hatred has no place in religion.
By extension of this principle of love of life, we should love those who do not think like us and who are at odds with us. We should love our neighbors who profess a religion different from us.
All religions teach the love of life and this love is behind and underlies all religions. This is the truth common to and behind religions. The good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 the messenger of oneness of religions descended in 1969 to wake us up to this basic realization.
We are one in love of life - in goodness of God and saints. Let no one deceive another and point fingers at others that they know not how to live life. Let all not think ill of another or think they know better.
If we can do so and have respect for others' beliefs regardless of whether we agree or are in concord with such beliefs, then there will be more of the oneness of humanity and the oneness of religions despite the different stands and views.
It is also alright to have doubts. Let not doubts drive a wedge in men or divide men. Doubt arises because of uncertainty or lack of understanding.
The lord saint Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 says that doubt can be healthy if after knowing better, men can love another more. Men will be more one than before. We must view others who disagree with us not with suspicion and ill-will but with love.
We must want to share our views and our love for life with them, never mind if they do not see eye to eye with us and have doubts. It is never wrong to have doubts. We must never think ill of another or think we know better.
