No 999 of Living Life Series 1
Sometimes, it is easy to mistake life for the means of life. To be rich and more than self sufficient has to do with means of life. To be able to catch up with the increasing cost of living is another. To be unable to do so is to erode our ability to be self sufficient. But life is beyond the means.
Likewise to be spiritual is to be at peace with God and the goodness in life. Do not mistake this with the means which is religion.
Religions enable us to be spiritual but when men embrace religions as the ends in themselves, there will be problems. Men may end up arguing that religions are different and they pit one religion against the other.
But they fail to realize that there are many roads to Rome. Yes, these roads may be different roads. Religions may differ but the end result is the very same spiritual peace of some sorts leading to ever more pureness of this peace.
The good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 says that all religions are one in God and goodness.
Religion is about life. Life is religion. Life is the living gospel. This the good lord did say, didn't he?
Life is what religions are for. Why go for religions as the ends when what we want is to go for life.
Mistake not religions as life. Religions do make life more meaningful and enable us to better know and appreciate life but not as substitutes for life.
Religion is not the purpose of life. Life is the purpose of religion. The differences of religions does not mean they do not have the same purpose - which is to bring out God and goodness of life in us.
All religions are man-made and will ever be different as such but religions are directed at how to be good in life here and hereafter.
Life is not about religion. Religion is about life. Make the distinction of life and religion - of end and the means.
