No 992 of Living Life Series 1
God is God and man is man, yet many say there is God in man and man in God. Such is the way men think they can impress fellow men.
The presence of God in man happens when that man can be good and Godly. But it can have its downside when man is idolized as God instead of God.
Many a priest or pastor make the grave error of acting as though they are God and congregation make matters worse by fawning on them. The man at the pulpit speak for God and takes the limelight from God and the Word.
In the first place, man should not even idolize God but live in the Word. The Word is God. Know the Word and know God. Claiming to know God but yet know not the Word is not good enough.
The good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 says thus. The saint is the Word and the Word is the saint. His image is the Doctrine and the Doctrine is his image.
We must thus be mindful to see God as God and also saint as saint. Do not project the ways of man as the ways of God and saints. Many regard God and saints as wrathful, jealous, to be feared and what have you. Many too think God and saints need to be fawned on and they are attention seeking and insecure if we don't do so.
Isn't these attributes the weaknesses of man? How can we depict God behaving like man and having the weaknesses of man. We must not see the man in God. But God and saints want us to be like him in virtues and in the Word.
