No 978 of Living Life Series 1
The religions of the world are by themselves enough to reach out to men and give them meaning and purpose in life. That they might not arrive at this is because men fail to see the inner truth in religion.
The inner or basic truth is one and same in all. The founder sages introduced them in the way most appropriate to the society and times when they came as man.
Through the years the times change and if people stick to the same, the teaching may be out of context and not that appropriate. What if the teaching cross divides and go round the world? Surely the same presentation of teaching will give rise to more misrepresentations.
That is why the teachings are not as efficacious and effective and men at the helm had to do something that will capture men's attention. This can be both good and not so good.
Thus it is important that we go to the inner truth and understand in context. By so doing, we will accept that due to different contexts, there will have to have different applications of the same teaching to reach out to men. Thus we end up with proliferation of religions, sects and cultures.
This is both good and not so good and it all depends not on God and saints but on men. The worth of religion depends on men. That is why the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 descends in 1969 to bring out light in men to see the oneness of religions in basic teaching.
That is why he started no new religion but wants us to see in the light of truth in whatever religion we are in. We must be better in our respective religions. We must be more worthy of the religion we are in. Then we make the religion we are in more worthy for men.
The different teachings of religions arose based on the same basic teaching elucidated by the sages in the context of their times and part of the world they are in. The basic teaching is how to be good and pure and be closer to God and saints. It is as simple as that but to reach out to all men is not as simple.
