No 980 of Living Life Series 1
Indeed, they should not be there if the people of the temple take heed of the teachings of the lord saint at the temple. One such teaching is to open the temple for all kinds of people, for people with different views within the same religion and for people from diverse background and religions.
It is not uncommon for foreigners to come not as tourists but just to seek blessings even if they are of different religions and cultures. The wonderful part is that they don't have to believe and don't even have to pray or worship. The lord saint of the temple will not lay down preconditions before the saint will grant blessings.
This is in line with what the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨 says that any temple must uphold the teachings that all religions and people are one even though they are not one in thinking, practices and in belief. All are one in religion though of different religions and cultures.
In the same vein, we would expect the people and management of that temple will toe this line, embrace this and accommodate people of different religions and cultures. Indeed they do and that is splendid.
But ironically the men at the helm may lose their head. They may be so caught up with ego and worldliness of all places in a holy place like a temple.
They may be carried away by the worst of ego and end up not open and accommodating towards their own kind who are of the same temple but of different views on matters such as how the temple should be run. They not only not accommodate but chastise those that do not sing their tune, notwithstanding that such people may even be the pioneers or elders.
While the lord saint of that temple can accept, accommodate and embrace people with different views and thinking without bias, the management of some temples just could not. They are so outright in their intolerance. They are so unlike their lord saint.
This is not meant to be the case but has turned out to be a good or rather a bad learning point of what should never be. It is not something for a temple to be proud of, let alone be a learning point for others.

The inconceivable in a temple can happen because men are men and behave like insects coming to a flower for nectar. This was mentioned and emphasized by the good lord Lord Bo Tien 武天菩萨. This can happen in any temple or house of God.
A temple is meant to be a torch for others to emulate but may end up as sort of a bad example of what men should never be if they are followers of a heavenly saint.
