The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Fun in life and in the house of God

No 825 of Living Life Series 1

All good things that captivate us in this worldly life have to do with fun. They have to come to an end, like everything in this world. Even lunar new year ends after 15 days but let the fun go beyond for the rest of the year if we can.

Fun is good as long as it lasts but fun is due to man's longing to satisfy himself. Fun is addictive.

We go on and on finding more of fun. This can be funny as man goes on to go for more fun just to want it again, lose it and go on for other fun in life. The need for fun drives us on but isn't it no fun to lose the fun we have in life time and time again?

But without fun, there is no drive in life. Is it simply just hanging on to happiness that do not last - only to give rise to bleakness that makes man want to have more of the fun in life in new forms.

Is life the chase for fun - one after another? Fun is rooted in the physical or biological needs of the body and the senses. Christmas and the lunar new year are fine examples of fun and joy.

When the body wanes and decline after the age of 30, how good can a person sustain the fun and for how long can he sustain the fun in life? When he reaches old age, what was fun in past is no longer fun and the drive for fun only yields increasingly more stress and boredom instead.

Then he undergoes withdrawal from lack of fun in life. Fun is addictive. Fun has to do with the lower calling in life which comes naturally for men.

For man, there is the higher calling which is spiritual but many go to  a house of God purportedly for spiritual but unconsciously go for the worldly fun or kicks at the very house of God. But that is better than having fun outside the house of God and saints.

Like what the good lord Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨) says, they are like insects and ants who go to the flower for nectar and when one flower no longer provides the nectar, they go for the next flower. This goes on and on.

It is fun to be in the limelight and fussed over by fellow men and what better places than at the houses of God. If one house of God no longer provides the nectar of fun, then switch to another.

But as the good lord says, "Blame not the flower for insects coming to it." Point not your fingers at a house of God for at least many will be near to God though not so near to true spirituality. The near may be far but better to be that way than far and not near.

Didn't the good lord Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨) talk at length on the near and far? The near can be far and the far near. Give this some thought. After all, no one will gravitate towards spiritual life if not for fun and awe to begin with.

But in time, fun must give way to the serious business of higher spirituality. We must climb up the ladder of life as we progress - 步步高升. Isn't this one of the many greetings during every lunar new year?
步步高升
We can still see life as fun but be mindful to go beyond fun and climb up the ladder of success. Let us keep alive the spirit of the lunar new year for every day of the year and year in and year out.
步步高升
That is the way to go
