THE PURPOSE IS TO SAVE SOULS. IT IS WAY BEYOND NORMAL GOOD WORK LIKE CHARITY AND WELFARE ACTIVITIES. NO ONE SHALL BE SAVED BY GOOD WORKS ALONE BUT BY MORE THAN GOOD WORK. THERE IS NEED TO BE IMBUED WITH THE BASIC DOCTRINE COMMON TO AND BEHIND ALL RELIGIONS AND SECTS. LIVE IN DOCTRINE. DOCTRINE IN LIFE IS PARAMOUNT.

The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Happiness a choice, more so during Lunar New Year

No 826 of Living Life Series 1

Many seek happiness and are only happy if they get what they want. But why not be happy even before they get what they want and be happier still should they get what they want. If only men can do this, this world will be a beautiful world.

That is indeed the position Chinese take during the lunar new year celebration. Happiness is the choice for lunar new year. Be happy and only then can there be more happiness.

Religion is like that. There is the culture to be happy and all the rest in life is based on this. The lunar new year culture injects happiness for all to begin the year and have a happy year.

People of religion are happy because of their religion and they may even face misfortune but they hold on to their faith and are happy because they want to be happy. They have their religion with them, their faith in God and saint. They feel sheltered and life could have been worse off had it not been for the shelter of God and saints.

Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨) reminds that if sheltered by God and saints, it would be easier to weather the storm and calm seas will return again. Issues will be no issues if sheltered by God and saints. Even if big the issue will be less of an issue.

and small issues no issue.

Many who have faith are happy to begin with. It is not that they are happy for no reason or that they are happy even with problems in life still unsolved but they have faith in God and saints. They are convinced that God and saints stand by them and all will be well. The storm will subside and calm sea will return, as reiterated by Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨).

There is however the element of fate which men have to come to terms with. But the faith in God and saints make this less of an issue. Isn't this great?

Men of faith have God and saints to stand by them but they too must stand by God and saints. They must be testimony of the great love of God and saints for mankind. This is so that more can come to know of divine love. God's love reaches like the ocean to many a shore, as often mentioned by the good lord Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨).

The good lord wants us to know that God and saints reach out to all through not just one religion or sect but through many a religion and sect. There is that oneness of religions and sects despite the apparent diversity.

The ocean is able to reach out to many shores. Likewise God and saints like the ocean can reach out to men of different needs through different religions and sects.

The way to happiness (come what may) is to be sheltered by God and saints. God and saints are like the ocean of happiness to reach out to men.

Be sheltered by God and saints and be Happy. The lunar year every year is the time every year when we reaffirm our need for shelter and blessings of God and saints. This way we can move up in life from blessing to blessing 步步高升. This is part of the culture of Asians notably among Chinese. Culture is religion and religion is culture.

We can be forever happy by being sheltered by God and saints. But this is different from being enlightened and be like the saints. That is a different story altogether...

We need to be a saint and to do so we must first learn to be happy to begin with. Happiness is of this world and of the immediate heaven just next to our world. Sainthood or enlightenment is way beyond but must begin with happiness of this world. This is the first step and we do need to take the first step and climb up more steps - 步步高升 in our climb upwards to sainthood.

Somehow, we need to be happy to begin with so that it is easier for us to live and move on in life. We do not really need the reason for being happy but divine shelter can make it easier for us to want to be happy. Do we need a reason to be happy every time we want to be happy?

Let us just be happy with life come what may. Happiness should be a decision and not the outcome. Happiness is a choice. Often it is religious fervor that enables this. This is one good reason why men need religion.

The congregation is ever happy
in the presence of the lord.
So why not let the lord into our daily life
Then we will always be happy.
Which lord? Well any lord will do.

That is why the good lord taught us this prayer.
"To all heavenly saints we greatly adore.
We believe in your existence
and thy glory is in the thought of men.
We seek for they protection and guidance
so as to live better for the time to come."

Lest you forget

Do not make the mistake of idolizing any man who tells you about the Word. He is in the same boat as you even if religion refers to him as a religious leader. Mere mention of a religious leader is as good as encouraging idolising of that man. Why must there be hierarchy in religion? Hierarchy is conventional but may end up as liability rather than a necessity or asset. There should be no caste or hierarchy system in religion. No one is to be considered above another in religion. A religious leader or follower is a servant to serve you and not a leader to be idolised. Do not put him on the pedestal and make a monster out of him.

MAY ALL BE WELL AND HAPPY

May all be well and happy. May they have peace. May our departed friends and kins be well, happy and have divine peace. The main writer wishes the best for all for those near and far. Our kins may be far when they had passed on to better lives but they are near though far. He remembers and wishes his parents Mr Siow Soo Koh and Mdm Tay Hung Siang, his uncles and aunties like Mr Tay Koon Huay, his cousins like Mr Tay Chong Sim and his friends like Mr Philip Png well and have abundance of life. May they be rich in spirit for without such ancestors, there will be no posterity - no us and no you and me. They have blessed us and we must blessed them in return forever and ever.
