The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

The god-man myth or reality?

No 752 of Living Life Series 1

Many are prone to hang on to the coat-tail of a god-man who professes that others cannot have salvation unless they believe in him. All they have to do is to believe.

Salvation is beyond logic and rationalization. They have to stop thinking and do more believing. Faith is all that is needed. Anything that shakes the faith is taboo.

They should gather in numbers to have brotherhood and fellowship to be pillar of strength less their faith be shaken. They should sing, jump and dance so that they be filled with joy and leave no room for logic that may cause their faith to falter.

The call to believe is strong and all that is needed is just to believe. Some may call this as too simplistic but it works and that is what that matters.

The cult of the god-man is no myth but real. Men are told not to think or they will have doubts. Doubts they say are bad as they make men think further and rock the boat of faith.

But wouldn't faith be blind if we don't question? Why is there the need to believe what the god-man says?

Buddha had sung praises on doubts. We need to question if we want to understand more and have insight.
The late medium of
Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨)
was no god-man but a servant,
or did some regard him as one?
Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨) added that it is perfectly alright to have doubts. Doubts arise when there is lack of understanding and grasp but when men with doubts come to understand, they will be even more ardent in spirituality than those who find them wanting in the first place.
Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨)
While it is often that men do need god-men to initiate them to spirituality, it is odd that they cannot do so on their own. Why do they need to let the god-men think for them? Is there indeed the god-man myth if faith is carried too far. Faith can be blind but normal men are not supposed to be born blind.

Ji Gong (济公) is a good example. He was regarded as a misfit in his days as man. As a novice in a monastery, he saw no need to do what the monks did. He believed that "what matters is what goes through the heart and not what goes through the gut or what one does."
Ji Gong (济公)
He had his reservations and you may regard them as doubts. But he was not in doubt and was sure they got it all wrong.

He was one not taken into the business to ape what others did and be contented to go along just by faith. He would neither foster god-man culture nor be a god-man for others. That is Ji Gong for sure.
Ji Gong (济公)
The notion of the god-man is never the idea of God and saints but arose from the weakness of men. Man need to see the god in man. It is a myth that should be realized and put away as men gain in wisdom. This will however take time.

But some still need to hold on to god-men, be they in the personality of a historical man or a living one at the helm or pulpit at a house of God. The god-men will always be here to stay and in certain respect would still be of some benefit for men. Is the god-man really relevant to society?
