Why must there be those who love others not because they really love them but because they love themselves more as others we will be of value to them?
Why must there be those who do not love themselves but claim they love others? Can they really love others if they do not love themselves?
Loving kindness religions talk about is to be kind towards others but to do so, the individual must be kind to himself.
It is different from the selfish love when one loves himself only but appears to love others as they can help him to love himself. In reality, he does not love others but he only loves himself.
The person who loves others but does not love himself has no idea of what is love. He denies himself and sacrifices himself for others. He cannot even value his own life. How can he then value the life of others? Is there such person in this world?
Religion would want us to think the sages are like that. This is far from the truth. It is because men have wrong idea or rather no idea at all. Man thinks that God will kill himself or torture himself out of love for beings. Isn't this delusional and far from being true or correct?
