No 1618 of Living Life Series 1
Life is uncertain. Death is certain. No one can avoid death. We can shorten our life but difficult to lengthen life. Recklessness can destroy life. To lengthen life is not as easy. This is life, isn't it?
It is easier to make life imperfect but to have perfection is as good as impossible. Imperfection is the only perfection in life. So what would we expect of a temple or of a religion.
Imperfection is easy to have and promote in any temple or religion. Do not grumble and bring the sky down. Religion is never spared from imperfection.
It is easy for wrong to be done but not easy for true good to be effected. Many put up an outward show but at heart what they want is to seek personal gain and status from men and from God. What they worship is not God though outwardly they claim to do so. They like to glorify themselves and would even worship man for that. This is the truth and the truth is plain.
Bo Tien wants us to learn from the life of fellow men so that we be better off if we do not do what others do which are wrong. Man is man after all and imperfect are men by nature. To try to be as perfect as possible, man must put his heart into it and make as perfect a world inside him.
This is more pragmatic and the approach if we try to have as perfect a temple or religion. It is easy for a temple or religion to be far from exemplary though supposed to be near to being exemplary.
The near to exemplary can end up far from exemplary. Bo Tien 武天 says that near can be far and this is true of a temple or a religion. A temple or religion has to be mindful and not try to be popular. Otherwise instead of leading men to God, a temple or religion can lead men astray and further from God and heavenly saints.
Is a temple or religion a temple or religion of man or a temple or religion of God?
