The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Bring on the smiles in life

No 1433 of Living Life Series 1

Life is not even a bed of roses.

Even if it is, roses have thorns.

Those who seem to do fine have their upsets as well to prick them. Life is like that.

But we should persist and keep the peace in us come what may.

Who is better off or worse off is subjective.

The poor may well be better off than the rich if they can be at peace with life and make do and move on.

Smile all the way in life and the world will seem to smile to us.

Inner peace brings on the smiles in life.

Be like Ji Gong 济公 who belongs to no religion and no temple. He is ever at peace and smiles all the way. He brings on the smiles and the cheers.

No need for religion. No need for a temple. Nothing to call his own. He can still make it and win many a smile from those he meets.

He is a pillar of inner peace and a beacon to show that inner peace works. Let us all be like him and bring on the smiles in life. Show that inner peace works.

Without inner peace, how to bring out the smiles and go the mile? Inner peace is for all the way in life. It is in all religion. But do we need to be in religion to have the inner peace?

In fact, religion is often portrayed as serious business and prophets and saints ever serious and stern looking. Some are depicted as if they are tormented and suffering.

Are they like that or is this the making of men who are not at peace though supposed to be so if they are in religion.

Though near to God and saints in religion, they are far. The near may be far. Bo Tien 武 天 remind us of this. But then again why is Bo Tien 武 天 depicted with serious demeanor?

The exception is in the image below where he is all smile. Here, he brings out the inner peace in us and makes us smile as well. Smile and reach out to the world.

We can be like him and like him be the great ocean to reach out to many a shore and land with inner peace and bring on the smiles all over the world and beyond.

Talk not of threats, hell and damnation which will wipe away the peace and smile in many a being, not just Man like you and me.

Somehow, Ji Gong 济公 can smile better because his following are like that. They smile all the way to the grave and beyond.

Why is it alright for the writer to joke about the image of Bo Tien 武 天

Well, for one, the good Bo Tien 武 天 is not for fear. Fear is not compatible with inner peace and love. Fear wipes out the smiles all round.

When we attain spiritual success of significance, we are more at peace and tend to smile even more and bring on the smiles in others as well.

Yes, bring on the smiles in life. That is the way isn't it? We can smile when happy and also smile away at our problems as they come. Storms do not last forever. Bo Tien 武 天 did say this didn't he?

Rain should not shut us away. Why not smile and dance in the rain? Surely, we can and we should.

Why must a saint suffer and be picture of suffering so that we may live? In fact, he must lead the way and show how by knowing him, we can be happy and smile all the way to the grave and beyond.

We should have mental picture of him smiling with love and exuberating inner peace. We can be like him at peace and always bring on the smiles.

This does not mean saints do not suffer before they be saints. All of us do suffer if we don't have enough inner peace as yet.

But some in the name of God collect money and smile all the way to the bank. Can money in the bank be of any use to him beyond the grave? Of course, he will not be smiling in the end.

Those who are with him and misled by him will be upset and not have peace. They will not smile unless they are far into cultivation of inner peace and no longer affected by the misdemeanors of men
