The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

So what if we cannot have more of peace

No 658 of Living Life Series 1

Men of religion should be content with whatever daily peace they can have in day to day life. Even if they only have glimpses of peace, that is good enough.

Many are under the wrong impression that to have more peace, they just have to accept their lot and what ever God and heavenly saints could provide. The danger of this is that they may just resign themselves to life and make no progress.

This regression may appear to give more peace initially but will in the long run bring less of peace. The world does not wait for them even if they choose to watch the world go by.

But to go along with the world does not mean joining in the rat race and eventually in any race, those in the front will in time be behind. This has a multiplier effect on the unease and strife in life - the anti-thesis of peace.

Countries from which sages and founders of religions hailed from tend to be deeply religious and that can be a problem.

The men of such states are more likely to be resigned to life. Then they will gravitate to simplicity and simplicity makes them poverty prone and impoverished. There will be fertile ground for strife and unease with no peace whatsoever.

In such social cauldron where men are religious yet envious of the lot of others who do not share their religious zeal, there will arise the seeds of martyrdom. The conditions of life are already rock bottom and death through fanatic religious zeal is to them a better alternative. They think they will be heroes and enriched spiritually. They think that they would rather gather riches in heaven than on earth.

There is need for moderation and to come to terms with life and its reality. We cannot live by religion alone. We too cannot live by bread alone. Without bread and keeping up with the Joneses, we will be left behind. Without increasing our income, our buying power to sustain a reasonable comfortable life is eroded by inflation.

Living by bread alone is myopic for we will not have the foresight of life beyond the world of bread. Living by religion alone is lame for we cannot go far without bread.

There is need to have balance of polarities - the yin and yang. Yin by itself is not good enough and can be detrimental. The same applies to yang. But combination of both yin yang (阴阳) can bring out the good of both and negate the bad in either.

This they say is Tao (道) that steers one to peace. But Tao is not as easy as it seems. We do get glimpses of peace but not unending peace of the sages. That will be in the distant future.

So do we give up Tao. On the contrary, we should not. We should seek the guidance and shelter of God and saints while we pursue Tao. But many who seek the guidance of God and saints soon just go for God and saints. They plain forget to practice Tao in life.

Anyway, by the grace of God and heavenly saints, they will be assured of places in the Heaven above Earth. There they can be beside God and saints to have the good life. But what is the good life. It is about having and developing peace. It is about cultivating Tao. Those who make progress will have to learn more. To learn more, they must live where yin and yang prevails. They may have to be men again.

But it is better for the many who cannot grasp the importance of cultivating Tao to be saved by the grace of God so that they can be in the heaven above Earth to have the good life to learn how to have peace which they could not have while as men.

Even men of Tao (道) need the grace of God as on their own, how far can they go. Few are those who can make it on their own and even among these few, most have benefited from the grace of God and heavenly saints.

Thus fret not if we cannot have more of peace. We still can have the grace of God and saints. By their infinite merits, they create the realm/s in the level of Heaven above Earth to accommodate us and there to put us on the path of Tao.

武天菩萨
Lord Bo Tien

Thus with regards to grace of God and heavenly saints, Lord Bo Tien says that if a candle fame is sheltered, it will grow and glow. Let us be sheltered by God and saints. To add further, the good lord says that a collection of candle flames will light up life better than a single flame. This not only applies to lighting up the lives of others but ours as well.

So fret not if we cannot have more of peace of Tao (道) on our own. We can have the grace of God and saints. But remember to practice Tao - even a little at a time is better than none. We need to live by bread and we need to live by the grace of God. Only by having them can many of us be able to have better chance at (道) Tao.

Tao

It is indeed by the grace of God and heavenly saints, that we have Lord Bo Tien through none other than the late Philip Png. This has enabled many to cultivate the peace of Tao while on Earth and not wait till kingdom come.

Do what we can and not wait till in heaven to cultivate Tao. It may take many lifetimes in heaven and on earth to do so. But be not concerned if we cannot have more of peace of Tao. Fret not as we still have the grace of God and saints to feel we have arrived in a way even though we may have not.
